Adam Shankman is a creep.

No, I haven't and won't watch. I'd rather not see a sixteen year old give a forty-five year old man a lap dance. Don't care if he's gay. P.S. call Cyrus a whore here and I'll be very mean to you.

FLIST SORRY I'LL POST HAPPY FANDOM OR AT LEAST FANDOM STUFF AT SOME TIME.

The age difference alone bothers me, but adding in the fact that he produced the film... I find that very disturbing. It's really disturbing that he didn't consider that acting that way with a young woman that he is in a position of power over is not at all appropriate.

The age difference makes it fucked up.

So I take it you saw the trainwreck on ONTD?

"OH LOOK AN ADULT MALE DANCING WITH A 16 YEAR OLD I WILL ATTACK AND SLUT SHAME THE 16 YEAR OLD."

I hate people so much.

Yeah it was like... I was surprised that it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

While I agree that he definitely shouldn't be encouraging that behavior from someone who is (a) so much younger than he is, and (b) worked for him, I'm really concerned by a lot of the behavior I've been seeing from Miley lately, this included. This is not me calling her a whore, it just seems . . . you know that girl you went to high school with who was only ever good at being pretty, so when you went to college all she did was take her top off at parties, get really drunk and then have sex with boys in bathtubs? It reminds me of that. Like she thinks this is appropriate behavior because her whole life, she's only been rewarded for the way she appears. That scares and saddens me. Don't girls have any other recourse anymore? I mean, I'm not that much older than Miley; we're not even a generation apart, I guess. But it seems like that's the only way girls my age, her age, get noticed, is when they're half naked and acting a fool.

I don't think it has to do with her age. I think it has to do with the lifestyle she is in and the fact that she's exploited by her parents - not actually parented. She's hardly alone in her behavior.

Ugh, I hate that some people in that post are saying it's okay because he's gay.

Can I still say she's a twit, though? Because I haven't seen anything from her since that "we're making slanty eyes but it's just for fun we didn't mean to be offensive so it's ok teehee" photo that indicates she is capable of considering how her behavior reflects upon herself. The fact that she's always had the popstar life and all that doesn't excuse anything.

Um why wouldn't you be able to think badly of her for that? Call her on her actions but don't used gendered insults against her.

I'm not sure what you mean by "wouldn't be able to think badly of," because I totally do. And I wasn't aware "twit" was gendered - every dictionary definition I've found just says "an [insignificant, bothersome, foolish, etc.] person".

Oh I mean I don't have issues with calling her a twit. If it has any sort of bad meaning behind it, I'm not aware of it.
