Brother: *makes lots of comments about how orgs who work for oppressed groups of people is part of the reason that the oppression still exists and we should all just work together in harmony

Wow! Your brother and my brother should get together sometime. My brother has been talking me down about feminism for more than twenty years now, and is only just beginning to get it ...
There is always hope. My brother started impressing me with not being a total douche and actually listening to what I was saying (once or twice now, it's happened!) once he got a feminist girlfriend and she started educating him. Maybe that'll happen!
Until then, punch pillows and scream. It's what I did. :/
That's what I get for assuming Adam knows a tiny bit about male privilege. Or at least that reason he has a hard on for, he'd use it, by, you know, using it. Men.
How does that even begin to work? I mean, Libertarianism is all about lifting yourself up by your bootstraps, which you made yourself unless you were lazy. Or so it seems to me.
You see, my brother is a different type of infuriating. He's like "yes, sis I agree with you being a woman generally means you're fucked over, but what are you going to do about it you can't change the world? Also, could you change out of that miniskirt before we go to dinner?"
He's really very strange. He says that gay people make him "uncomfortable" but he says they should get the right to marriage. He says he disagrees with abortion unless the woman's life is in danger or she was raped, but he thinks that abortion should be legal. So I'm like, "you're the strangest bigot ever"

Ah yes, the old "why can't we all just get along" argument. Why can't we all just get along? Because you boys have spent the last several thousand years keeping us ladies as your slaves, servants, and second-class citizens, and then doing all in your power to keep us there. Do please forgive me if I'm a little bitter about that.
I should do that one! (Though in no particular order because I'll just confuse myself that way...) Let's hope I remember this idea next time I find myself a little spare time to use.

I'm a shy girl. I'm pretty much resigned to only being read occasionally, and never heard.

But on a more positive note, I do look forward to the hundred female character love meme thing! :D
