Wow! Your brother and my brother should get together sometime. My brother has been talking me down about feminism for more than twenty years now, and is only just beginning to get it ...

There is always hope. My brother started impressing me with not being a total douche and actually listening to what I was saying (once or twice now, it's happened!) once he got a feminist girlfriend and she started educating him. Maybe that'll happen!

Until then, punch pillows and scream. It's what I did. :/

It's just like I can't believe he said that? And didn't even have the balls to back it up. Boy debates, show some ethos.

Oh, but you don't need to back things up when everybody listens to you automatically because you're a man with confidence!

I'm a shy girl. I'm pretty much resigned to only being read occasionally, and never heard.

That's what I get for assuming Adam knows a tiny bit about male privilege. Or at least that reason he has a hard on for, he'd use it, by, you know, using it. Men.

YES THEY DO. I have some reservations because I'm not sure I agreed with all the points he had on racism, but it's overall a strong strong book.

I'm not sure I did, either! But my reservations weren't big enough to stop me endorsing it on the whole - I always have reservations, with pretty much everything. And as far as racism goes there's a whole other booklist I'd be recommending. ;)
