Lisbeth has been watching TV all morning, not something that she usually does, usually nothing on it interests her. Most of the programs are stupid and mindless, and anything educational she can read in a book that does not stupid opinion commentary or commercials. Still, when you are the primary topic of conversation, you tend to pay attention. She smokes one cigarette after the other, watching with morbid fascination as more "facts" come rolling in. That horrible, horrible passport photo keeps flashing across the screen. It's the only one they think is suitable to show on TV, not the mug shot from the last time she was arrested

He's in the car, on the way to the hospital when the mobile pings. It takes him five full frustrating minutes to access his e-mail on the phone. He's relieved to hear that she's okay -- though he wonders just how fine she can be given the apparent situation. They reach the parking garage before he can get the reply out; it's finished on the way to the main building.
