You are getting in over your head

Follows this. Lisbeth is wasplisbeth and referenced without permission :( BUT WITH LOVE!

Tipping the frying pan, Shuichi dumps the rest of the eggs onto a plate. With breakfast complete, he stands at the island and scratches his neck, looking around at the empty house. Nothing over the past six months has made sense, but since returning to Tokyo he's been even more confused by Taiki. The man says nothing for a week, flies into a rage, and then the next day decides to crawl into bed and fall asleep next to him. It's getting more and more difficult to keep his mouth shut -- something he's never been good at anyway.

A deep sigh and he pushes the full plate of food away.

Taiki waits to hear the shower curtain, wanting to make sure Shuichi's in before he gets up. The blanket draped over him is pushed away and Taiki disentangles himself from the rest of the bedding; he slept hard enough to not wake when Shuichi got up or covered him with the thick comforter. The numbers on the digital alarm blur together and he yawns, rubbing at bleary eyes. His glasses are in the other bedroom so he has to sit up and peer at the clock -- nearly eight in the morning. He has three hours before Nakao will be discharged.

His first stop is the guest bedroom. Taiki collects his glasses and pushes his bag off the bed, uncovering the open medicine bottle and the small assortment of pills piled near the pillow. When everything is cleaned up -and the unmarked bottle is stored safely back in his leather work bag- he shuffles out of the room and down the hall.

It takes the computer a while to boot up. Taiki sits on the edge of the office chair, wiping tired black eyes. As far as he can remember last night was the most sleep he's had in weeks -- but instead of feeling rested and refreshed, it's all he can do not to crawl back to the warmth and comfort of his bed. His gaze drifts down to his hand and while the computer loads he stares at his dismal aura -- it felt so good to leech some of Shuichi's colors the night before.

It takes Taiki some time to wade through web pages and find what he's looking for. Sensational articles are splashed all over the Internet, from Japanese news sites to American, Canadian, and of course where the majority lie: Swedish. Taiki's eyebrows pull together and he stares pensively at the screen, scrolling through headline after headline. It takes him a while to figure out how to translate the pages but eventually a headline fills his monitor:

POLICE HUNT PSYCHOTIC MASS MURDERER

Turning, Taiki braces his elbows against the edge of the desk. His glasses are peeled off and tossed aside and he buries his face in his hands. Silent minutes tick by and he knows that Shuichi will be out of the shower soon. A deep sign and he mops his face, debating his next move. Something Lisbeth said years ago suddenly comes to mind: 'If you were in trouble, I'd come get you'.

Eyes drift back to the screen and he sits up, reaching for his mouse and opening his e-mail inbox. A brief, concerned message is sent off to Lisbeth -though he doesn't expect an answer. Another goes to Murasawa immediately after, asking for permission codes.
