Friday Night, Movie Night [open]

John and Allison recently did inventory. Not that they ever don't do inventory, but it's been some months now since they took over Oubliette Video so they have a good idea of what does and doesn't rent.

And what doesn't rent? Is getting sold. For somewhere between $1 and $5, depending on how long it's been in the stores.

Peter has been sent to see if they're selling their copy of the 1913 Count of Monte Cristo, so he manages to make it here between school and work. He's in his nice shirt, tie wedged in a pocket when he slips in.

It is entirely probable and possible that they are selling this movie. If Peter can't find it in the bin, he should clearly ask Allison. She's just over by the register, writing in a notebook. A list of movies they need more copies of, and another list of videos that they need to get.

He knows they had it, and just hopes no one's snagged it. "Hey, Allison... I don't know if you remember me, I'm a friend of Dib's?"

"I remember you. Dib tasered us." It's pretty hard to forget that. "Peter, right?"

All of these movies are relative to Dib's interest. Somehow.

He needs to know if it's the original Wicker Man or the Nick Cage remake. Not that he won't buy it either way, but he has to know.

He's in his standard work dress, suit and tie. If he's headed home or headed to work is anyones guess.

Dib in a suit is still an image John is getting used to, but he's in good spirits when he spots his friend and neighbor coming through the door.

"Hey. How goes?"

"It goes all right, how about you?" A decent portion of the building thinks Dib got a job with the mob. Opinion is split over if it's a better career path.

"So far, so good." He shrugs. Nothing to complain about is a good thing in John's book. "So you coming from or going to?"

Charlie had to wait until Dib left to come down to the store. Because she comes bearing gifts! Secret baby gifts in pretty gift wrap.

She does her best sneak inside, just in case, sticking close to the side. Stealth is so much easier in dark alleys.

Dib is gone but sneaky sneakity-ness is something that will always catch John's attention, be it in a dark alley or the store. So when he spots Charlie he tilts his chin at her, slightly. "What's up?"

"The sky. The ceiling. My apartment. Also? Awesomeness!" Charlie hands the two soft packages over quickly. "Blue and brown. Just like you asked! I did a silk lining because it looked stupid otherwise."

She also made tiny blue booties and a bland brown hat. She's just happy for the excuse.

Bruce doesn't watch many movies. He doesn't have time. But he has a teenage boy, now -- in the acquired sense, not the parental sense -- and a little more free time than usual lately. (Darn rock-climbing accidents, leaving you with a busted arm...) The two of those, combined -- well, when he gathers through the grapevine that there's a video shop he knows a little about, holding a sale -- why not stop by, and see what they've got?

Allison is, when Bruce comes in, putting a copy of Howard the Duck in the store's television/vcr combo. So she's a little distracted by that when he arrives in the store. But, she will do a bit of a doubletake when she does see him, finally pressing play and sitting back down at the counter. "...hello."

He's either so used to this kind of reaction that he just doesn't notice it anymore, or he... just doesn't notice it, to begin with. Either way, he smiles at Allison, big and bright. "Hi! The sign said you were having a video sale."

"Yes! We are having a video sale." Pointing at the fairly large bin. "All of those are on sale, but if there's one you're looking for, we can see if we have it."
