The writer/director's name is Robert Quick.

BTW, how does one go about putting together a reel, anyway? Sounds like it's a bunch of one's scenes spliced together, but is there an accepted format? An average length? What's the dealio?

I did not know Robert well personally, but I know he's got _some_ amount of experience under his belt. Heh. I do remember once hanging outside the football stadium with him after a long day of selling food to raise money for a film called "Outpost", and (he was a wee freshman at the time) just askin' him about what he was interested in doing in RTVF, and encouraging him to keep working on projects and making things happen. Glad to see people take my advice. :p

As for a reel: basically, yeah, just a bunch of scenes or scenelets back to back. Maybe a liiiittle intro montage if you've got the footage... (some actors try to turn their whole reel into a sort of flashy 'music video', which is clear proof that they have no good scenes to show.) No longer than three-four minutes. As for format, simple is best: your name and contact info at the beginning and end, clips in the middle, and maybe caption the clips as they come up (e.g. "Pat Gets a Cat, Northwestern University"). Lead off with your strongest material, and of course pick scenes ( ... )
