Summary: Kairi wished for a huge party and Val intends to deliver.

[Inara walks into the party dressed to the nines in the dress that Val dropped off for her. She's not used to showing up to a big social event on her own, but she can manage.

She heads to pick up a glass of wine, since that seems to be the natural thing to start with.]

Seriously, she couldn't have thought of a better way to spend her one wish. It was so wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves, a sort of happiness they hadn't been able to feel for a long time with the Consortium looming over their heads.
So Kairi'll be weaving around the crowds, sampling everything the party had to offer, and grinning widely.]

[Axel catches her by the hand, grinning down at her, vaguely moving to the music] Good wish.

[She's caught off guard for a moment but quickly relaxes, grinning at him as she follows suit.]

I thought it would be nice to wish for something everyone could enjoy together.

It's been a while since we had anything like this. [He laughs, letting go of her hand to shove his hands in the pockets of his jeans]

[For the week she had no scars, so Temari intended to enjoy it. She leaned against the bar, wearing cut off shorts and a tank top from Whispering Rock camp. She didn't usually drink, and had no intention of drinking enough to affect her, but it was a party. A beer dangled in one hand while she scanned over the crowd, looking a bit like a pin up girl in heeled sandals.]

That she did, and the man in the tuxedo was the first to notice. His eyebrows lifted appreciatively as he approached her, slipped off a few seats down to her left, and he ordered a whiskey sour.]

[Turning to lean on the bar, he gave her another lingering look, before taking his drink and sipping it, looking elsewhere for a few beats.]

[Of course she noticed him. For one, it was a professional habit. For two, he was an attractive enough man checking her out. Women were practically programmed to notice that.

While he casually took his seat, Temari turned to openly look at him.]

[He looked over at her when she spoke, smiling a little before he took a sip from his glass, then spoke.] Just a drink and maybe some innocent fun. It's a party, after all.

[He met her gaze boldly, lifting an eyebrow.] What about you?

[There was nothing Howard loved better than a party - and he had promised himself, and Val, that he'd shut down his own to attend this Kairi girl's. Good to his word, he showed up dressed to the literal nines. He had a tuxedo in his closet, and he wore that with a flower he had plucked from the greenhouse in his lapel. His hair was tamed as much as it ever could be, he was clean-shaven and smelled of a tangy after-shave.]

[Yes, he looked good. Yes, he was aware of it, and wore it casually. No need to flaunt.]

[One hand in his coat pocket, the other with a drink, he made the rounds.]

[There's a voice behind him.]

I was starting to think I overdressed.

[He turned on his heel towards the voice, and his eyebrows raised together. He could actually feel his heart thud in his ears, and his breath catch.]

...Oh, I wouldn't say you're overdressed.

[She liked that expression on him and stopped far enough back that he could see the whole dress.]

Considering a lot of the outfits I've seen?

[Karkat is lingering around, looking awkward and uncomfortable. It's not that he's exactly unhappy about his surroundings - every thing is actually pretty nice - he's just shit at crowds and always has been, and now that he's alone for the moment he doesn't really know what to do with himself.]

[What more, thanks to his wish for the week, Karkat is also boasting a set of bright red fairy wings, and a brown godtier shirt. (Kind of like this, though he's not wearing the cape.) His wings are folded back at the moment, almost like he's embarassed of them, and he's lurking in the corners and less populated areas like he doesn't really want to be seen.]

[Over all, he basically looks like an awkward teenage boy going stag at prom, only he's also a fairy.]

[Clark isn't big on crowds, himself- not as Clark Kent anyway. He recognizes the signs of somebody awkwardly trying to blend in and hide at the same time when he sees them.]
