Forget it, we're not going to segregate new arrivals or determine who's good enough to stay.

Even if it means another "Sylar incident?" I don't see why we don't take out the people we know will just be a problem and save us the headache.

Because we're not those kind of people.

So what happens now? This quorum is a good start but too big to make any kind of efficient decisions. If we've got an emergency or an experiment that goes bad, we're going to people to make decisions in a hurry.

I think we're all in agreement that having one leader of everything and everyone isn't going to work. No one has all the knowledge to do that, and even then, we'd have to have a vote to get people to follow the person.

But personally, I think the station needs some sort of leadership. I'm an Army boy, I'm used to a chain of command, but too much of one would complicate things unnecessarily here. My best suggestion would be dividing the work that needs done for the station to function day to day into departments, with each department being run by one person, and possibly an understudy or two to take over when things go bad. Something like the state and federal government system where I'm from.

Agreed. I have no idea what state and federal are, but I'm used to having a clear chain of command at home. Should make communication easier, if nothing else.

Back home, each area of the country had their own government, but each of those then came together with representatives in the federal government. Simplified and applied to the station, say, the medical department and the security department would be the "states" and run themselves day-to-day, but their leaders would handle things as a group on a station-wide basis.

It at least would make communication run smoothly if everyone knew who to go with different issues. Leadership could be elected by a majority.

[Since this should be a riot and a half, I'll make threads for each of the departments for people to make nominations.

Tsunade, I think you're just what the doctor ordered. You're already getting things under control in the medical bay.

Seconding Bucky, I don't think there's anyone here who knows how to keep healers and medical types in order like you do.
