Part 1: The Reavers are sighted. white_beret September 14 2011, 17:17:22 UTC
The window of the command room had been left unboarded, so that any yells from the roof top could be clearly heard. When the cries of the sentries came down, Komui turned to the messengers, barking out orders.

“Alessa, tell the clinic. PM, get the defenders scrambling. Alma, tell the supply runners to start moving ammunition. Come back once it’s done to report.”

He picked up his communicator and sounded the alarm. Between his runners and his message, everyone should know what to do.

Alessa nodded grimly, her eyes fixed on the distance. Inside, she knew she was going to die, probably in a gruesome fashion. No way a powerless seven-year-old would survive a raid like this.

Then she turned tail and ran to the clinic. She'd probably die, but she was going to do everything she could beforehand.

Alma nodded shakily, eyes wide. He could hear the yelling from the rooftop and the ever-growing rumble that could only be... them. He was afraid, and rightly so, but there were still important things to do. Komui had trusted him with a job, and he would do everything he could to get it done.

Usagi walked away from the clinic where she had just brought supplies and snacks for the wounded, feeling restless. Something was wrong. She couldn't sense it as a senshi, but something sounded different.

Part 2: The Doors are Opened dr_nii_jianyi September 14 2011, 17:24:45 UTC
It had been an easy matter to slip away amidst the chaos caused by the second sighting of the reavers; even without his Dharmic powers, Nii had always been capable of making himself unnoticeable when it was most required of him. The other’s were just so busy attempting to fend off the attack, or tending to those who were foolish or weak enough to get themselves wounded. Like so many mindless ants, so very easy to crush...He’d had this idea in mind all along, ever since the first raid had occurred; it would make things more interesting for him if nothing else. After almost year in this place the air was beginning to feel thick and stagnant around him, and whilst it was true that he preferred to work from behind the scenes, to go unnoticed as he watched the chaos brought about by whatever little scheme he’d decided to put in place for his own amusement, it seemed to him that the time for inactivity had passed. He was careful of course, as he went about dismantling the barricade he had made to look so sturdy, there was no need to get ( ... )

Emilia had taken the mattress furthest from the large window at the front of the clinic. It was cowardly, she knew, but she couldn't bring herself to be any nearer to the sounds of fighting.

When Nii came back from the bathroom she looked up at him, worried.

"Could you hear what was happening, doctor?"

His expression was convincingly serious as he turned towards Emilia, nothing about his demeanor hinting at what he had just done, the dark anticipation that lay beneath the surface of his skin effectively concealed from view.

"It sounds serious, Miss Galmar, but I wouldn't worry. We're well defended here," he intoned. Though the question was, were they well defended enough, when they were being attacked from both inside and out...

"Thank you, Doctor." Emilia took a deep, settling breath and leaned further back into her pillows. She had to be calm and quiet, since the doctors needed their energy for the casualties coming through.

The battle was loud. She could hear it all around them as she sat there, no mater how she tried to block it out. The battle must have been getting fiercer, since she was sure she could hear the howls of the raiders themselves.

The first Reaver burst into the room just as she was telling herself to stop imagining things.

Part 3: Aftermath white_beret September 14 2011, 17:31:10 UTC
It was a bloody battle, but the Reavers had been driven out. Night had settled now, hiding some of the destruction.

Inside, the fortress is littered with the corpses of Reavers and bloodstains marking where the facility rats fell. Outside, twisted heaps of hoverbikes lay where they'd been blown from the sky.

The night was filled with cries, both of those too hurt to do anything more, and those trying to comprehend what they'd just lived through.

Komui was in shock. He'd been caught up in battle before, but never anything so bloody and visceral. Akuma victims crumbled into themselves. They were never so stinking and wet.

He stood in the doorway of the bedroom he'd named Command Centre, his gun in his hand. The Reaver he'd shot was still lying outside the door, groaning feebly. There was blood bubbling from it's ruin of a chest. The sound was terrible.

He raised his gun and shot once more. Blood spattered as it's skull blew apart.

It was Komui's first kill and it left him shaking so badly he could hardly stand.

Tsunade staggered more than walked as she moved up the stairs, a gun in one hand and a makeshift club in the other. She was exhausted and covered in blood, some hers and some not. Bodies and dying everywhere, it was just too similar to the war. But she'd deal with it later, right now she had work to do.

Her voice resembled a machine, falling back on old training. "Status."

Komui answers, rattling off what he knows in short sentences.

"We've driven out all the ones who could run. Severe casualties in this section, lighter damage across the road. No supplies were taken, but our ammunition won't last another battle."

He drops his gun into his pocket so he could wipe his hair back with both hands.

"We need to find the breach. Casualties need trating. We need to dispose of the bodies before the rot sets in. Or we could burn this house down. We don't need the extra space."
