I don't mean to alarm you with that. There are those that were terminated and returned... I did not wish to leave them from the memorial, since it was uncertain if they were the same, with erased memories, or another entirely.
I hope you understand.

[It may have something to do with coming from the same universe, instinctive, that is, but he didn't question her identity. Or, he hasn't yet, at least. He's standing in front of the stone, originally out of general curiosity. He knew Stephanie's name would be written, even with her return to facility. And he also knew, but may have briefly forgotten, that practically every member of the batfamily is written on the stone, except for him. Bruce, Dick, Jason, Tim, Stephanie, even Cassandra.]
