Who: Death and anyone who turns up for the memorial service
When: Wednesday evening
Where: The biodome
Summary: Death is holding a memorial for everyone who's been terminated at the facility, to give those here now a chance to grieve and to see if she can do something for whatever traces of the dead may remain in the 'dome. This is an open log, so ( Read more... )

[Death is standing near the memorial, her eyes closed, floating a couple inches off the ground.

Though there's nothing visible holding her up, anybody who may come by might hear the distant sound of wings coming from all around.

[Usagi wanders toward the memorial, her crayon blonde dyed hair hidden under a kerchief, reading the names of old friends. "Samus Aran" brought back many memories, and Usagi blinked back tears. "Trucy Wright", "Himura Kenshin", "Aino Minako"...and now, "Jet".

Then she spots Death. At first, she's struck by the woman's appearance--beautiful!--but then she notices she's...floating.] Aaah!

[She claps her hands over her mouth. She really should be used to this by now. She mumbles, in case she disturbed the woman.] Sorry.

[Death opens one eyes, and then another, smiling disarmingly at the girl and lowering herself to the ground]

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I didn't want the sensations of the ground on my feet to distract me, that's all.

[She puts her hand on a corner of the memorial]

Who are you grieving, miss?

[Yujinn came by. He wasn't sure what the people he knew would think of the grave, but it seemed only right that someone be here for Varsuvis, not to mention Duzell and Reno.]

[He's alone.

But there are many people he misses, and many he never met, and perhaps, where they ended up after termination, was somewhere where they missed the group still here in turn.

... What caught his eye, though, was that he was on it.]

... That's...

[Didi pads up softly beside him, making nearly no noise on her bare feet. She speaks in a whisper]

I don't mean to alarm you with that. There are those that were terminated and returned... I did not wish to leave them from the memorial, since it was uncertain if they were the same, with erased memories, or another entirely.

I hope you understand.

No, I... get it.

I don't remember being here before. That me is dead.

... thank you for all of this.

I can only hope this might begin to make up for my absence in this place for so long.

You're welcome.

[It's been a long day, and Damian's head is still ringing. His intention was to scour the feed for information concerning the last week, when he came across Death's message.]

[It may have something to do with coming from the same universe, instinctive, that is, but he didn't question her identity. Or, he hasn't yet, at least. He's standing in front of the stone, originally out of general curiosity. He knew Stephanie's name would be written, even with her return to facility. And he also knew, but may have briefly forgotten, that practically every member of the batfamily is written on the stone, except for him. Bruce, Dick, Jason, Tim, Stephanie, even Cassandra.]

[He should have left by now, but, he's staring.]

[Death pads up silently, not trying to sneak up on him, but making nearly no noise at all, and blending seamlessly into the semi-darkness of evening]

I hope that doesn't alarm you too much, Damian. I didn't want to leave any off the memorial, even if they were currently living.

[He doesn't jolt, but his eyes flick to the side, staring at her.]

....Tt.
You know my name?

I know everyone from our world. I am there for every birth, I watch every life, and of course I personally oversee every death.
