Summary: Val gives Stein the order to remove Marie's appendix while whispering sweet nothings in her ear. Marie generates electrical current in her body. It ends as well as can be expected.

Stein hesitated to open the door; he'd dealt with enough excitement for one week and he wanted to avoid having any more until next week at the very least. But his own collar kept tightening and getting himself lightheaded and choking before surgery was hardly the safest plan.

"I really am sorry about this," he said as affably as he could manage as he opened the door, holding it aside so Marie could come in. "I did warn you this place could get bad."

Marie gives out a forced, awkward laugh as she steps into his room. "It's nothing you should apologize for," she stated, "It's not your fault that this happened."

She tries to keep her forced smile from cracking. She needed to stay strong for now.

He can tell that smile is forced and it only serves to make Stein feel worse. It might not be his fault entirely, but he has a feeling that if he wasn't here, Marie wouldn't be getting an appendectomy. And he was doing so well not operating on his weapons, too.

Rather than voicing any of that, though, he smiles right back and leads her to his room. "Don't fret; I took out my own appendix a few years back, and operating on someone else is infinitely easier. You'll be just fine." Stein debated warning her that it would hurt, and probably terribly, but he didn't want to make her start worrying now. "Just lie down on the bed and we'll get this over with as soon as possible. The sooner we operate, the sooner you can recover."

She does as the doctor says, laying down on the bed and stretching her body out. She continues to smile, nodding with encouragement.

"I'm sure you'll do fine," she stated, "If there's someone I would want this to do it, I would pick you first."
