A soft rustle suddenly broke through the calm atmosphere as a figure moved behind several tall bushes on the other side of the pond. After several long moments a light-haired woman emerged, a perplexed expression on her face as she took in her surroundings. Both hands were clutched in her large skirts, lifting them off the ground as she walked.

Kanda straightened instantly at the sudden sound, his eyes setting into a glare as he swept his gaze along the trees. When they settled on the woman however, they instantly widened. It was.. no, it couldn't be. It had been such a long time since he last saw that ghostly form he almost didn't recognize her. Almost.

For once, he was dumbstruck. Blue eyes stared at the woman, his hand still clenched on Mugen and ready to draw but his killer intent wasn't there.

She took a few more steps before turning and catching sight of Kanda, wide blue eyes flicking between his face and his sword. She tensed, as if ready to flee, but there was no fear in her face. Their uniforms were different, but there was no mistaking the rose cross on Kanda's chest.

"... Exorcist?"

His hand let go of the hilt of his sword almost awkwardly as he nodded. "Yes..." Kanda looked her up and down, her clothes did vaguely resemble something of a uniform, but it wasn't one he recognized right away. He took a small step forward, getting close to the edge of the pond. "How did you know...?"
