Who: Gideon and precanon!Ramona.
When: Late late tonight.
Where: Up on a nondescript but particularly high rooftop overlooking the city.

Ramona doesn't know what to think. At all.

She has no idea who would want to kidnap her. Or how it even happened in the first place.

At least she's got Gideon.

But something's different about him. And if what he's been telling her is the truth, then - he must be from another time. But when exactly?

She stays close to his side, tightly holding onto his hand.

He takes some small amount of comfort in the gesture, even though he knows it might very well be the last time she willingly touches him like this. The ride through subspace isn't a long one, but it was still odd; that feeling of descent even though they were technically ascending in the actual world.

A rooftop-- that's where they were headed. It was the ideal location at the moment. There was no way anyone could stumble upon them or interrupt, and it was perfectly quiet. Gideon had even left his faciliberry back in the room so that it wouldn't accidentally start broadcasting or some stupid shit like that.

A few more minutes and they've touched down. And the second that subspace door is gone and they're alone on the rooftop, Gideon is pacing. He wishes he could enjoy the seclusion-- being alone with her, looking out over the vast city expanses filled with colorful lights. But he can't--not at the moment. Not with so much on his mind that he needs to get out.

"Wow," she murmurs as they become grounded. "It's beautiful up here. Creepy quiet, though." With a slight snort, she swings their arms as she attempts to take in their surroundings.

But then he slips away from her, and she tries not to look disappointed. "Gids? What's the matter?"

"Yeah, it's--nice."

He regrets breaking the contact the second she speaks up again. He's already considering just playing this off. He could do it--and he could probably get away with it ( ... )
