I'm planning to dismantle one of the ventilation pumps today. I'd advise anyone who's interested in helping out in engineering to join me. This will be an excellent opportunity for you all

[He kicks off the covers and wanders out to find the food, tribble still attached. The striped pyjamas make him look even longer and lankier than usual]

[There's rice and veggies on the stove, as she's not one for European breakfasts and thought he might feel the same.

His hostess is sitting at her kitchen table, flipping through messages on her communicator with tea steaming next to her.]

[Komui goes straight for the coffee, answering only when he's sipped down nearly half the cup]

Good morning, Inara. That smells delicious, just what I'm in the mood for.

[He piles himself a bowl of the breakfast and sits down at the table with her. he knocks some of the food out of the bowl onto the table and then sets Henry down. She rolls straight over, hoovering up the rice and trilling happily]

[Yaaaaawn. She looks like she hasn't slept in days.

Rita waves her hand casually.]

Sorry, I'll be calling in sick today, Komui.

You look like you could do with a bubble bath and a good sleep. I heartily recommend it, it's done me the world of good.

It isn't every week you're gifted with all the knowledge in the cosmos. I'm not going to waste it laying in bed. [Never mind that she's wobbling as if she's about to collapse.]

You'd be surprised how much clearer everything becomes when you're soaking in a cloud of lavender-scented bubbles. I only agreed to this to get my PA off my back, but it's done me a world of good.

I guarantee you that even if you don't find some bubbles and a comfy bed you'll be collapsing asleep on top of whatever you'll be working on in the next hour. If you don't want a bed at least find a soft book to read.

I'm sorry, sir, and I mean not to be intruding, but I am not a good one for having nothing to be doing. Machinery... I am not too familiar with, but I have years of working with my hands. If you are needing assistance...

If I remember correctly you're a shoemaker, aren't you? A craftman's eye is not something I'd sniff at.

I'm doing especially for people with no experience. You won't know if you'll love the trade until you get elbow deep in engine oil.

I'll be stopping by the the Office of Engineering Director first to pick up some fresh clothes. It's in the engineering lab on the fifth level. If you meet me outside there I can bring you to the pump I'd like to start working on.

[Kimblee will be skulking around engineering checking out things rather intently. He saw this on the network and was intrigued. His utter ignorance of this kind of technology has him a bit annoyed and he's down here to rectify that.]

[Between the video and his arrival in the lab Komui would have picked up a change of clothes and a mug of coffee. He still smells faintly of the floral bath products he stole from Inara the night before]

And I'm Komui Lee. You're welcome to sit in, or pick up a wrench if you want to join in too. Have you had any experience working with machinery before?

[He rolls up his sleeves and proceeds to look for the applicable tools, sneaking a swig or two from a poorly concealed flask.]

I did a little work on some engines that were a thousand years behind this tech, but most of my experience comes from doing the work with alchemy not tools.

I don't suppose you knew the Elric brothers? If you're from the same reality that's a very useful sort of alchemy.
