Eleventh Null Session//Rose Lalonde\\Video

[The figure that appears onscreen in an empty, quiet part of the rec isn't one that can be easily recognized. A long, bright orange outfit covers their body, a matching hood obscuring the eyes. But from the large sun insignia, the blond hair, and the familiar colors and shape of the outfit, it shouldn't be too difficult to deduce. An unmistakable ( Read more... )

Well, that's four for four.

Welcome back, Rose.

I appreciate it, John.

[There's a bit of trepidation as she feels uncertain as to what else to say.]

It's been a long time.

Well... it's been what, 24 hours on one end, and around 48 on the other.

Though that is pretty long.

We've been adrift for a while already, John.

[Well, well well.
Look who has finally grown her quite metaphorical wings. It seems my dearest protege has at last embraced her role as the Seer of Light.]

[A short video feed shows him slow clapping for her, lasting only a few fleeting seconds before shutting off.]

[What an impressive performance, might I add.
Oh, and I haven't been able to say this in so long. I do hope you don't find it rude of me if I do say this but...

I told you so.]

I don't care to hear it, Scratch.

I was forced to play into a role inscribed to me from the very dawning of existence itself.
If you wish to gratify yourself by way of asserting omniscience that is already well au courant, you'll have to expend a heftier portion of your omnipotence towards convincing me to see it as anything other than pedestrian.

[Rose, as proud as I am that you have finally come to be a fully realized Seer of Light, I am still very disappointed in you.

Mostly, I am disappointed that you doubted me. You of all people should have known better than to have doubted me when I said that you would become a Seer. And now, rather than admitting to your foolish mistake, you are childishly trying to convince me, and yourself, that I am the one who has erred, that I am being "pedestrian."

I am stating the absolutely obvious, in the most painstakingly clear way possible, only to prove my point.

I quite literally, quite cogently, quite fervently told you so.]

Perhaps you would like to further pick apart my brain as to surmise why I might have doubted you?
Could you perhaps trace it back to a childhood terrorized by shards of broken glass from bottles of wine?
An inferiority complex brought about by my failure to protect a single friend or my Mother?
Is it my amorous disposition towards a hoard of dark foreboding entities that lingered over my sleeping form?

You have a cognitive plethora of metal instabilities to pick and choose from, so please, by all means take your time in your next lauded conclusion.

Looking good there, Lalonde.

It does seem as though those words you spoke to me all those months ago weren't as off-base as my own fatalistic neurosis would have me believe.

[Rose grins, glad to see her friend's body breathing.]

What overdramatic Serketian sequence of events shall I incite to properly display the appropriate level of gratitude?

Please, I don't have time to be dramatic right now. But if you want, I stole some sarsaparilla and donuts from that town we were in. Before we blew it all to hell, I mean.

[a frown, unfortunately.]

By the way, we're probably not going to get to add anything else to our treasure hoards.

Then you could do without the theatric tinge on your lips.

[Rose pulls back to hood to reveal a full set of lavender eyes. Perfect symmetry after months of living with a clean hole in her head.]

I can see that, Vriska.
Although if you'll allow me, I'd like to voice that perhaps your making a hasty conclusion towards the supposed ill-fate of your beloved hobby.

That was lovely. How long have you been playing?

My first crude note screeched it's way into existence around the age of eight.

That would make just over a mere half-decade.

That's surprising. Are you one of those child prodigies?

I've acquainted myself rather fervently with the arts over the years, but I'm not about to throw around overzealous terms like "Prodigy" or "Genius."

Perhaps something more befitting of a little girl who found more comfort in the shadows of her own room drawing a bow idly against violin strings than entering the cloud of gin and derision that laid below.

"Diligent," maybe.

Way to wrap this up in style, Lalonde.

Witnessing the end of two universes first hand and subsequently being obliterated by an expanding sun does tend to lean one towards the artsy side.
