[ There's a light crackle of noise at first, and blackness, the light sound of almost fabric rubbing echoing through the microphone before the ceiling is suddenly in view and half of Charles' face in addition to that. ]

No-- wait come back here, this instant! [ He is a bit snappish, but that's to be expected when he's suddenly found himself so far

I'm alright, this blasted thing is being quite a worry and I--

[ Whatever he's going to say is cut off when he finally traps the thing under his vest again. ]

What in the world is this?

[This is the image of Mera facepalming before all of a sudden the berry disappears under what appears to be a shelf of some sort.]

It's this week's experiment. Apparently those in charge thought it would be funny to make the communicators come to life. [A beat.] I take it you're new?

[Don't mind him, trying to coax the 'berry out if its hiding place.]

Yes-- quite new, last I recall I was drinking scotch and reading a book-- and now I've found myself somewhere very-- unlike home with this little monster biting me and--

[ An awkward pause as he fingers his neck, knees settled on his vest to keep the damned thing from shuffling off again. ]

-- Some sort of bloody collar?

Hey, you uh. You need some help wrangling that thing? They're kinda going nuts this week-

[Sorry about the shaky cam as he bangs his device against a rock.] Yeah, they're going batshit this week. Might be the experiment. Anyway. I've got tape if you need some help with that.

Help might be nice yes-- [ The face in the floor mutters before he's dragging himself back up; none of this is visible till it's skittering near him again and he turns with a snap of his head. ]

-- What in the--

-- Yes! Tape would be lovely, once I've [ Static! ] it again.

[Being a speedster is fantastic. He takes what's seen in the background of the video, and just a few minutes of zipping around checking places, he manages to find the person. Huh, he doesn't recognize this guy... Are they sending newbies in again? How weird.]

Cavalry's arrived! With duct tape. [Because duct tape solves everything. He yanks off a long strip of the stuff as he makes his way in at normal human speed.]

Oh-- hello! [ He sounds quite surprised, but is thankful for the help, getting the little things legs bound down, and then it's mouth because-- he doesn't feel too keen on being bitten again.

Once that's settled and he's dusted his vest off he slides it back on. ] Thank you-- very much, this has been quite a bewildering experience.

It seems the communication devices have been acting unruly for the most part for everyone. [Ironically, Steve is pretty tech stupid with the new technology that it's more of a blessing then a hindrance.

Maybe his device has been exasperated at Steve not being able to work it to its full potential and is helping him out. Minus the apparently affectionate biting it sometimes does.] They usually don't do this though. It seems this is probably what everyone meant when they said random experiments.

Oh, I don't know if that's a comfort or not. [ He's never one to find comfort in the commiseration of pain with others. Still, it's nice to hear a friendly sounding voice. Clearing his throat a bit, he takes a quick leap to pin the damned thing, half under his vest; a mop of brown hair and bright blue eyes visible. ]

... Exparaments-- lovely-- [ Oh, what has he gotten into--? ]

It probably isn't. But I guess you at least know it isn't just you who's having trouble with their devic-ow. [What the heck. Don't bite him. Steve just tilts his head curiously. He hasn't seen him since his arrival.] Have you just arrived here? It sounds like you haven't been familiarized with this place yet.

I can inform you of what I know. [A short pause.] Steve Rogers.

I would be eternally grateful, Steve; I'm about as lost as I've ever felt. [ After a pause and a few quick adjustments-- moving the thing about while trying not to be bit, so he could at least look straight on. ]

Pardon my rudeness, Charles Xavier-- under other circumstances I'm sure it'd be a pleasure to make your acquaintance.

Quiet, yes. [ He catches a glimpse of the image before the little thing is attempting to scurry under something and he's staggering a bit trying to snag it. Familiar hand posture, he decides to question that later. ]

I've found myself lost, collared, and with a little thing trying to bite me-- all and all I would say I'm having my fair share of problems.

Oh, yes, I do feel terribly lucky. [ His tone is about as dry as the western environment he's been dropped into. ]

Dare I ask what's going on here? That is-- if you know, I'm quite unfamiliar with this sort of landscape.

[If it's any consolation? This feed comes on and it looks like it's from a rooftop. There's no reply at first, only something that sounds like maniacal laughter before there's a hand suddenly in view. A redhead suddenly pops up and he's trying to pull himself onto the roof.]

You too, I'm guessing?

Oh, um, yes-- quite. [ He sounds hesitant and occasionally comes into view while he's chasing it about, little bouts of static arriving when he gets a bit too close. ]

This is quite unusual.

I'll warn you while it's only a 'little' bit stupid and-- ah-- [The feed seems to zoom in and out when this one tries to get closer--on one particular reach he falls back as if he's lost grip but there's a recovery.] --and say that it can be much worse around here.

Anyone try to explain things for you?

I've gotten a few explanations, yes, though I find they're all equally discomforting-- [ There's half of his face when he manages to step on one of it's little legs and pin it into place. ]
