New Beginnings? (Henry Jekyll, Rose Tyler and others)

I took her hand, carefully. As she began to lead me God knows where I wondered if this was a good idea. Hyde was dangerous, that much I did know but truth be told I had, to some extent gotten used to him. Yes he had killed, yes he had maimed and he had raped but he was one thing that I was not; free. Hyde made no promises, had no regrets, did not ( Read more... )

"It's called Torchwood, the place I work." She squeezed his hand softly, "Seem's because of my travels I've become an expert." Rose couldn't help but laugh at the idea of that, her, an expert. She knew so little compared to the Doctor, and to these people here, she knew so much.

When he stopped and to catch his breath concern filled Rose's features, "Henry, are you alright?" She glanced up and around, wondering how far they were from Canary Warf and the Torchwood offices. "We can stop for a moment if you need to rest."

"Torchwood..." I let the name roll over my tongue, feeling the weight of it. "An expert" I smiled, I had never been an expert in anything. I breathed in through clenched teeth, willing the pain and the tickling over my skin to ease.

"No... he's just trying to..." I groaned again. "I'm fine, don't need to rest, I'll keep him at bay, he isn't trying hard enough. If he really wanted to, believe me you wouldn't be standing here with me now" I laughed weakly. "He is merely...playing..."

"Seems that I am. Just cause I saw the day the Earth exploded, went to other planets and saved the world a few times, seems I am an expert." She shrugged a little, Rose still didn't think of herself as an expert in anything, she just knew stuff and had experienced stuff. She never wanted anything from what she did, she did it because, well, saving the world was the right thing to do.

"Maybe I should introduce him to my mom," she joked softly, "Thats the only person in the universe the Doctor seemed frightened of. Funny, all those aliens, creatures and he was scared of my mom. But then she does has a temper."

Walking with him once more she kept the pace slow, "Does he do that a lot, play with you."

My eyes widened as she almost ticked off what she had done. She had travelled so much, seen so many things that I couldn't even begin to imagine... and yet she shrugged it off. Although I suppose unless you've experience something you never know what it's like. I laughed a little at her joke, the pain shooting through me again.

"Maybe we should... maybe she could teach him a lesson" I laughed, which turned into a cry. I concentrated on walking, the simple act of putting one foot infront of the other, with her hand in mine and the wind all around me it was oddly comforting. But not enough for Hyde, it would never be enough for him simply to just be...

"Yes, he finds it amusing... he keeps me waiting, just waiting, not knowing whether he's going to take everything from me or leave me be..." I shrugged, "I'd like to say that I've gotten used to it but when things are as unpredicatable as him..." I tried to shrug it away.
