I took her hand, carefully. As she began to lead me God knows where I wondered if this was a good idea. Hyde was dangerous, that much I did know but truth be told I had, to some extent gotten used to him. Yes he had killed, yes he had maimed and he had raped but he was one thing that I was not; free. Hyde made no promises, had no regrets, did not

When he stopped and to catch his breath concern filled Rose's features, "Henry, are you alright?" She glanced up and around, wondering how far they were from Canary Warf and the Torchwood offices. "We can stop for a moment if you need to rest."

"No... he's just trying to..." I groaned again. "I'm fine, don't need to rest, I'll keep him at bay, he isn't trying hard enough. If he really wanted to, believe me you wouldn't be standing here with me now" I laughed weakly. "He is merely...playing..."

"Maybe I should introduce him to my mom," she joked softly, "Thats the only person in the universe the Doctor seemed frightened of. Funny, all those aliens, creatures and he was scared of my mom. But then she does has a temper."
Walking with him once more she kept the pace slow, "Does he do that a lot, play with you."

"Maybe we should... maybe she could teach him a lesson" I laughed, which turned into a cry. I concentrated on walking, the simple act of putting one foot infront of the other, with her hand in mine and the wind all around me it was oddly comforting. But not enough for Hyde, it would never be enough for him simply to just be...
"Yes, he finds it amusing... he keeps me waiting, just waiting, not knowing whether he's going to take everything from me or leave me be..." I shrugged, "I'd like to say that I've gotten used to it but when things are as unpredicatable as him..." I tried to shrug it away.

"You can't get used to something like that. Life shouldn't be something where you don't know if you are you from one moment to the next. Do you ever get any warning as to when he is coming through?"

You love it really... just admit, you long for it. Anything that isn't your worth, pathetic little life. But she likes you Henry...
"Yes, kind of like now, actually. My skin prickles, it gets hot, I get the most wracking of pains, in my stomach, my chest, my head... it's quite something really" my laugh this time was pained.

Her hand slipped from his and she wrapped an arm around him. Rose knew it wouldn't stop the pain but she knew comfort could always be helpful. "If you need to rest, or need anything to drink, let me know..." The center wasn't too far away from where they were, but Rose couldn't help being worried about him.

I leaned into her slightly as her arm wrapped around me, it was comforting, if nothing else. She seemed strong, willful, friendly even though we had only met. She seemed willing to sacrifice alot even if she probably didn't know it... Hyde's voice rang within my head but I shut myself off from it, he would not have her.
"I will do...but for now I need to keep moving, if I keep moving I can keep him at bay, for the time being at least... I don't know if I'm strong enough to do it for too much longer...he's so strong Rose"

A soft smile appeared on her lips as he leaned into her a little. She knew she was giving him some comfort and that was one of the things she was good at, being there for others.
"Okay, if you insist." She walked with him, up towards two glass doors that looked like any other office building. Inside there was a desk and Rose smiled at the woman sat at it.
"Miss Tyler."
"Hello Grace, I need to sign someone in today."
Grace nodded and turned to Henry, "I need you to fill in your details here sir and then look at this camera here so I can take a picture of you."

I opened my eyes to look up at the office block, confused and a little overwhelmed but I went in with her. The lady at the desk looked normal enough, all quietness, and order and curtosy. He looked around the room, taking everything in from the glass to the leather, he had never seen anything like this before...
Grace, her name was Grace. I made a note for later. I did as I was asked, taking the pen from her and writing my name and everything else she wanted, one after the other. I didn't mention Hyde, it would come out soon enough. A thin layer of sweat broke out upon my forehead but I kept myself composed enough, and even smiled slightly as a flash blinded me temporarily...
"Rose... I don't think I can..." I said weakily, my fingers moving up to my temples to massage the pain away.

"Your father is in a meeting and asked not to be disturbed, Mr Smith is out with the field team and will be getting in touch with you later." Rose just nodded and turned when she heard Henry's voice.
"Henry, you can." Rose placed her hands either saide of his face, "A few moments more, if we need to we can place you in a containment cell until his need to be out has passed."

You think so Henry? You really think so? Poor, poor deluded Henry... he laughed again.
"Containment cell?" I said, the fear entering my voice before I could stop it, my eyes widened.

She placed a hand on his arm, "Unless you know anything else?"
Grace handed Rose his Id and she handed it to him. "Ready to go inside?"
Reply
"Okay..." I whispered, pressure building behind my eyes. "I could try and reason with him, make it worth his while not to come out but I don't think it will work...it didn't last time"
"I'm ready..." I said, taking the piece of plastic from her, my picture was on it, I almost laughed at it, so weird, so new. "If he comes out, if I cannot hold him back anymore, promise you'll be careful, promise you won't listen to a single word he says... promise me you'll..." I couldn't finish the sentence, my breath stolen from my lungs. "Rose... we need to go now..." I said through gritted teeth, almost falling to the floor.

When he fell a little, Rose reached out to catch him. "Come on..." She moved fast, half walking with him, half dragging him towards the doors at the back. There was a slot she ran her ID card in and them stepped inside, pulling him with her.
"Henry, how are you holding up?" A code was tapped intp a keypad, then a hand print on a pannel before her card was needed once more. "Henry?"

I tried to answer her, tried to force air through my lungs, tried to make my body obey what my mind wanted it to do. I couldn't win this, he was coming too hard, too fast. I fell completely to the floor, my world turning black.
His eyes flickered in the bright, overhead lights, the pupils becoming smaller as they began to focus.
"Rose Tyler..." the voice was deep, a purr, drawn out. Slowly he got to his feet, his eyes never leaving the small, blonde woman in front of him. "So you've been trying to help our dear Henry, hmm?" he laughed, his eyes displaying a hundred different emotions. He looked down at the ID, tilting his head ever so slightly at it ( ... )
