Baklava - Trial #1

My mother used to make the best walnut baklava in the world ... IMNSHO. :)  She never had a recipe written down, and I neglected to watch carefully while she was baking so I am winging it based on the recipes that I've found on the net that seem most similar to what I remember

Aw, no photos! I love baklava... I'd love to give it a try, although it's one of these things I'm going to have to push into the new year I think. I'll be sure to remember you posts then, it sounds lovely!

Unfortunately I have no camera so I can't share pictures. Other than the top couple of sheets of phyllo coming off though during the cutting/soaking step, the baklava looked pretty much like the ones here.
