PICTURE HEAVY WARNING

Summer has been much too short. Of course, I didn't get much accomplished. In fact, I can't even remember the semi-ambitious plans I had made.

Next year, I'm going to have to make and post a list of To Do's to keep me on track ( Read more... )

sourdough, dessert, thai/viet, rice, pizza, cheese, recipe, italian, cake, indian, cupcakes, chicken, cream cheese, basmati

Oh, just shoot me now. I loved the 'smiling' plate. So many lovely looking dishes and me so hungry. Is it wrong to want curry for breakfast?

It's true, although we ended up going a more traditional route.

I had a couple of toasted slices of my pepperoni pizza bread with peanut butter. And coffee. Several cups of coffee. Carbs and proteins and caffeine. That's not BAD ... is it?

No OJ in the house and I've put a moratorium on grocery shopping til next week. So, I'm not even LOOKING at the grocery store flyers that arrived Fri night.

Give me strength.

Mmmm, shrimp and mushroom scampi. One simply cannot go wrong with shrimp, mushrooms, and garlic, can one? I keep a bag of frozen shrimp on hand at all times for my favorite "go-to" recipe of sauteed mushrooms, asparagus, shrimp and (lots of) garlic over linguine.

My goal for this winter is to experiment with breadmaking. I think I've mentioned I've never tried it, and since Mr Psmith avoids gluten I've been deterred from attempting it. But I think it's time to face my fears :)

I love shrimp too. I spent a lot of money on a big bag of raw, large sized frozen shrimp at Costco and will be going through it carefully until it's all gone. Cause I could devour it all cooked simply in olive oil/butter, garlic and some salt and pepper ( ... )

Thanks! Have you tried it -- or has Debra Collins tried it -- with a gluten-free substitute like Cup 4 Cup? They have some good recipes for breads and brioches on their website, so I thought I'd start with one of those. Cheddar beer bread, for example, mmmm.

No idea. There are no notes about that so I wouldn't want to venture a guess. If gluten is an issue, I'd use one of the recipes on the website. Hope it's a great success.
