Peach Melba Verrine de Panna Cotta

A verrine is a small dish presented in a glass which would normally be used to serve drinks. The vertical nature of the presentation and the transparency of the container allows an enjoyment of the different layers (usually 3) visually and gustatorily. Even though a verrine may be a starter, a main course, or a dessert, I chose the easiest option ( Read more... )

Thank you but it's been done much more creatively by a lot of people who actually planned ahead. :)

You are being very creative with panna cotta! I am impressed by your use of egg boxes. In France (and Switzerland) verrines have been in fashion for many years now, but they are unfortunately usually savoury and I frankly hate them because it means that restaurants or caterers at cocktails are very proud to transform delicious food which has nice different textures to mousses and such... Or they put into small glasses tiny bits of food which are impossible to eat. I am all for sweet verrines though and this one looks gorgeous. Canadian flag colours, aren't they? You can prepare it for next Canadian NAtional Day! :-) Sissi (http://www.withaglass.com)

Thank you. I was disappointed that the bottom layer wasn't peach coloured but raspberry so it didn't look much different from the raspberry layer at the very top. If you look back at the previous Peach Melba posts, it was leftover from them.

The pictures of verrine panna cotta on line are very colourful. I was going for the peach melba colours ... peach, vanilla and raspberry but my peach layer was actually a peach/raspberry puree.

I wondered how you managed to get that layer on an angle like that - good creative thinking, Marie. I have never heard of a verrine so thanks for the introduction. What a pretty dessert xx http://hotlyspiced.com

You could do two opposing diagonals, one after the other with 2 different colours etc. As I commented elsewhere, there are endless possibilities which are pictured if you google verrine.
