Although everyone seemed to wear day jewellery, real or costume, in the 80s, that's not the case any longer. I rarely wear any of mine these days. She should check Ebay. They have everything from earrings to pin to rings. Antique as well if she's into that.

Ah, lovely! They look great, you should definitely start wearing and enjoying them again... I wear jewellery every day and only take it off at night or when going swimming. My silver bangle stays on ALWAYS, tho.

My job used to prevent me from wearing jewellery and I got out of the habit since.

I used to work in a lab and was either always washing my hands even after wearing latex gloves. It was annoying to have to take the rings off and then put them back, in case I misplaced them. I also worked in the animal quarters and had to swing heavy metal racks around risking banging my rings into them and possibly breaking or chipping the stones.

I got into the habit of wearing easily washed sweat shirts (over t-shirts) in the winter which I was always taking off so I could put on lab coats ... so I never wore brooches/pins and only stud earrings so they wouldn't get caught and fall off.

These days, many of my rings no longer fit due to swollen joints. And wearing expensive jewellery at some of the schools in disadvantaged areas seems to be in poor taste.
