Well, I must fill you in on this past week. It started out with a trip to Horseheads, NY. This is a run that takes one delivery per day. There are two guys that run this as dedicated drivers each week. They alternate weeks of doing two loads one week, three loads the next. Well, what's gone on the past few weeks?  Last week was a bit boring. I hauled beans Monday through Thursday... two loads per day to Decatur, Indiana -  each roundtrip was four hours. The Friday before I did three loads - that made for a really long day.

My driving continues to go pretty well. This has been my first week of hauling all brass (no wheat). They've given me pretty easy runs all week... short runs, and only hauling scrap back (versus long runs, and sometimes hauling something else, such as steel coils, steel bars, steel plates, or whatever else... which requires going to large steel ( Read more... )

Well, the rest of last week went fine - a bump here or there, but I've learned a lot. We did the run to Arkansas again - I drove from 1am-9am Wednesday morning, then he drove for 10 hours or more, then I drove the rest of the way, from 9pm Wednesday to 6:45am Thursday when we pulled back into the shop at West Unity. Well, after getting home Thursday morning from Arkansas, had the rest of thursday, Friday, and most of Saturday off. Saturday night we loaded Sunday night's load at Chase Brass from 10:30pm-1:00am.
