I was exhausted after work today but went into Food Basics, anyway, to pick up milk and yogurt, since it was on the way home. My favourite Astro yogurt was on sale, but they were sold out, so I'll have to go back later in the week, if I pass by again.
In spite of my last post, where I said I wouldn't buy anything else, I NEEDED baking soda, especially since I use it to clean the glass top of my stove, so I bought a big box. I had used up all of my romaine lettuce, but they were sold out of THAT as well, so I ended up buying a bag of pre-cut coleslaw instead. I also bought a package of firm tofu and a bag of baby bok choy ... just because.
My attention was also caught by a 2 pound clamshell of fresh
Angelino plums, so I bought them too. And, now comes my problem ... what to make with the plums?
I did a bit of net surfing for ideas and here's what I came up with:
1. cobbler/crumble/pie/tart
2. clafouti
3.
upside down cake4.
coffee cake - I have no sliced almonds but I DO have ground almonds ... not sure if I have 1/2 cup though or this
one5.
torte - no picture, but it sounds good and uses lots of plums
Any suggestions? Cause right now my default is an
Irish brick cake but with plums inside instead of apples.
