Back from a short trip to Canada before heading out to WNY again to take care of things with my parents. My dad is still in the ICU and has been getting a new antibiotic that's $10k for 3 days of doses. :/ With the number of infections he's had, they've had to bring out the big guns to deal with the latest -- he's immune to most every other ( Read more... )

Sorry about Dad there. As for your mom, is there a possiblity of an efficiency rental? Some 'finer' hotels/motels offer that service. I'm afraid that you mom may be quiet, but her 'roomies' might not.

I dunno any Henrietta hotels that have efficiencies though -- and then, will they be affordable? From what I gather, even if she's getting a cheap room rate, which she already is, there's a bunch of hotel taxes that drive it higher. But, maybe I misunderstand and that's not really an issue.

Speaking of 'not quiet'... the hotel she's in now also houses RIT students, for some brilliant reason. The other night someone thought setting off the fire alarm at 2am would be a fun parlour trick (typical college crap). So, between the place being a dank hole and that sort of thing, getting her out of there seems like a good idea. :/

I don't know of any places in Henrietta, but there is an apartment building on Empire that offers short term, fully furnished apartments. If you want I can grab a name next time I drive by.

Thanks! I'm not sure I know Empire though... approx how far is it from U of R? (I'm thinking that with winter coming she's not going to want to do a lot of driving. She hates driving hates, snow, etc., etc. Everything make her nervous.)

Don't know of any place that won't take alittle driving. this place is probably 15 minutes away, give or take a few for traffic.

What about a place called Riverton Knolls in Henrietta? Have you heard of it? Is it nice/safe/etc.?

I seem to remember Bob refering to it as 'RiverHole'back in our RIT days, but the pictures they showed on the web page make it look nice and new, so maybe they remodeled.

I thought I remembered it having a derogatory name. It does look nice online though.

I CAN say that the people who work there are total goobs. They certainly don't have a "can do, customer service" attitude. Kinda snippy and not prone to, oh, you know, thinking. :P
