dear universe. please make me not feel like passing out. period pain is all very well but super special cramps plus shaky weakness, boiling/freezing/boiling personal temperature fluctuations and an exciting headache are not welcome. go way. you have had your time. desist!
the non-complaining bit: on way home, rescued giant caterpillar! )

this resulted in a good five minutes of standing with hand against tree, trying to look nonchalant while telling the caterpillar to hurry the fuck up and climb. off. my. hand. please.

You are. So. Cute.

*squishes you, gently*

*has cramps too*

Uh-huh. Especially with Asher cuffed to the hanger bar...

...trying to maintain his cool - because Asher is nothing if not cool - but the strange, slightly nervy guy with the unerving little smile isn't even looking at him now. Asher jerks at the cuffs and cranes his neck, trying to get a better view. The closet door is in the way so he snarls a little and just kicks it off its hinges. Ah, that's better. Now he can see everything as well as smell it...

Wow. That's kind of huge. Relatively speaking.

i tried to pull it off, but i feared i would end up with caterpillar legs attached to glove and not to caterpillar...

aw, yay you and yay caterpillar (though extreme sympathy on the not-feeling-well-ness and the universe definitely needs to let you be and recover now, damnit) and, aww, cute! and huge, goodness. i keep having to catch-and-release spiders at work (three inside of ten minutes the other day, wtf? obviously the mice are not eating them. *is a trifle hazy on that whole circle-of-life deal*) but they're not really all that interesting being as they're all little common or daddy-long-legses. but that is a very spiffy caterpillar. and it's enormous! i have never ever seen a non-monarch butterfly caterpillar in person, and they're way smaller, so.

*draws food-chain diagrams for shihadchick*

these diagrams feature leeches, spiders, mice, and - oh. it's now pretty much required that i quote tim from spaced:

"You're scared of mice and spiders, but oh-so-much greater is your fear that one day the two species will cross-breed to form an all-powerful race of mice-spiders who will immobilize human beings in giant webs in order to steal cheese."
