i read parts in the shop - it was GREAT. they've researched the people who sent the letters, and the intended recipients, so it includes the reasons people never got them where they could fins out, and how the story resolved if that was recorded. fascinating! (and, okay, often depressing!)

aww. cheers!

My trowel these days is mostly used on stubborn weeds in the garden, which is the closest I'm likely to get to field archaeology again!

No idea where my leafs went. Hmm.

Also, unlike you I didn't sensibly leave the DoY early and ended up chatting to a rugby tour from liverpool for most of the evening. Most entertaining. Yesterday was a bit of a write-off tho ;p

ha, and i don't even have a garden! i'm still keeping it though...

and yet, despite leaving early(ish) i still managed to slip on the stairs (went up them, realised had left something downstairs, turned, slipped, OOF.) and have a bruised arse. ow! woke up at 9am saturday but spent day mooching about in a less than useful way. and then sat up fiddling about half the night, bah.

rugby players, eh? dearie me.

This week I got introduced to a plasterer's leaf. Do as my boss is doing, tell the minions you are at a secret location and then dig anyway (even if you have got banned on medical grounds). The boss would now say something scathing about the stamina of archaeologists today.

(ask me to tell you the boss' smugglin' story sometime)

I think all your books look interesting, including the highways and the film book. (I have a media-studies textbook written around Who in the early eighties so I have no shame having sold it off at an early age).

Nice cutters. I have tapestry patterns for crabs and lobsters. *nodsnods*

*proud* i hoped you would like.

it's just - that's how they like to sit on rocks. it looks tiring, but i think it's to get more warmth from the sun, when they lift their head and flippers up like that. so they are seal banana shaped.

scans probably this evening! after i read lots of the_ckr_files posts and steal ideas take notes.

i know. but i haven't dug in years, /u\ so i have decided to stop kidding myself. a fresh start etc. maybe i will even take driving lessons next. *begins New Chapter In Life* ahem.

er, also, there is actually less rust than. um. dried-on mud. because i diod not clean them properly after last time i used then. *shame*
