It's so sad how they split up. I mean, if they wanted to put Leyton together, fine, but I hate that they had to break Brooke's heart yet again to get there. And it felt completely OOC too. Peyton spent the entire season saying how she wouldn't get in between Brucas again and then she goes and confesses her feeling for Lucas? Seriously? How insensitive is that? She knows first hand how insecure Brooke is about Lucas & Peyton's past ... she had to have realized that Brooke wouldn't have been all, "oh, you have feelings for my bf? Oh, okay! Great." /rant Sorry, I couldn't help it. I guess I am still a little bitter. :\

Yeah, I wasn't such a huge fan of this whole "non-exclusive" thing, but if it got me BL in some sort of relationship (other than friendship)
Yup, I feel the same way. They had a lot of cute moments and I liked seeing Lucas fight for Brooke and trying to win her trust again. Him telling her that he's the guy for her and decorating her locker? *loves*

Okay, you know what, Lucas can get over his hypocritical shit at this ( ... )

Oh, I know. It's like, I always knew that at some point they would end up putting LP together, but I didn't think that they would literally rip apart the beautiful foundation they laid for the BL relationship in order to get there. That's what I find so callous and unforgivable. Nor did I ever think that certain scenes in S4 would be written in such a way, as to say that other similar scenes that had happened in the previous season hadn't meant anything at all, because it was just an act and Brooke was just a stepping stone for Lucas to walk across in order to make it to the other side where Peyton was standing ( ... )

It did feel sort of OCC as far as Peyton was concerned as well, especially given the relationship that she had had with Jake, who I feel was personally the better guy for her anyway. It was the more healthy relationship for her.
Yes, this. What I hate about Leyton is that they ruined not one, but two relationships that I love. Jake and Peyton were so great together. He brought her fun, happy side, just like Brooke did with Lucas. Plus, she really did look like Jenny's mom. In that airport scene, where she goes to see him in Savannah, they looked like a family. Also, she said 'no' to Lucas's proposal but she was willing to give up her life to stay with Jake. Jeyton > Pucas.

I hate that Peyton demanded Brooke proclaim her love for her own boyfriend and acted all bitchy when she didn't. Major fail, writers.

I so loved the Destiny shot and I love even more that when he was first asked that question, he responded with Brooke. And it was later in the season, that he changed his mind. So, in essence, Peyton was his second choice. lolThat' ( ... )

Again, this. Because Jake and Peyton were simply amazing and when you add Jenny into the equation, they become even more adorable. Finally, Peyton could have had the family and the life that she'd always wanted. But, I suppose part of the reason the writer's chose to do things differently, was because the actor who played Jake had another gig on October Roads or wasn't going to be available.

Honestly, I think that Jake was the one that Peyton was truly in love with, the one that she would have dropped everything to do be with. I mean, she practically did when she got on a plane to go see him in Savannah. That was pretty much her destiny shot, right there.

Also, she said 'no' to Lucas's proposal but she was willing to give up her life to stay with Jake.

Exactly.

it's funny how people go on about how brooke's insecurities were too much etc etc but then lucas met her low expectations every.single.time. the first half of s3 is the only time when i really love lucas as a character - not chad's fault at all, but the writers were just deadset on rewriting that history. ugh.

and don't even get me started on peyton. the end of s3 killed her as a character for me - after everything that brooke did for her, she goes and does that. this show just turned into a nightmare.

This is true, because in a lot of ways I always thought that Lucas and LP facilitated a good portion of Brooke's insecurities. I really enjoyed Lucas a great deal in the first half of S3, but I also enjoyed him in S5 as well when he was being there for Brooke where Angie was concerned. He was just so supportive and it showed how much he truly cared about her.

Yeah, I wasn't a huge fan of MS re-writing the history of Brooke and Lucas, the way he did. I felt like it was seriously hurtful and a bit disrespectful to the fans, as well as to the couple that they'd spent three years worth of time and character development on.

True this. But, I have to tell myself that it's not necessarily Peyton that I hate, so much as it's her actions that frustrated me nine ways from hell. It's just so freaking selfish, there's really no other word for it other than that.

But yeah, word.
