LOL in our continuing quest to watch ALL THE THINGS with Doctor Who alum, firstofoct and I just watched The Ruby in the Smoke with Billie Piper and Matt Smith.
Wait, Billie and Matt Smith dated at one point?! Lol crazy....I love it! :p
Huh, I've never read the books, but I did love his other stuff, so I'm sorry to hear that....at least if it had to be a shitty adaptation there were DW alum to entertain, right?

ALL SIGNS POINT TO YES
I find this so hysterical. I don't know why. I guess it is because so many people ship her with David Tennant and so many people ship him with Karen Gillan and then BOOM, ROASTED
I don't really know when, I think around this time? Which I think was between DW seasons for her? And long before anyone knew who the fuck he was.

I was about to comment asking the same thing, but you already did, so I'll just sit here in total shock and kind of be amused 'cause they're both adorable.

Meanwhile, all I can think of is that interview Billie did where she was asked who was a better kisser, Matt or David? And she said David 'cause she hadn't REALLY kissed Matt....::cough::atleastincharacter::cough::
SL could be more BAMF in SotN too, unfortunately. And the plot was sort of confusing at times. I watched it with my 7 year old sister, though, and she seemed pretty good at following the plot. Maybe it was just me.
LOL Maybe it is easier to follow Pullman's plots as a kid! I think kids have easier times following plots because they don't get caught up in plot holes or inconsistencies the way an adult might.
That's too bad. IDK, Billie definitely has it in her to make a great Sally Lockhart, so I dunno what happened in these adaptations.

The books aren't so near and dear to my heart that I'm offended by the bad adaptation, but it would've been nice if they were awesome, given the cast.

and this is the first non-Who thing I've seen Matt Smith in so it was amusing to notice his actor quirks

Oh that's true. But that was not really long enough for me to notice and be amused by his quirks.
I love Bambelaide too. I'm sad they didn't make it far enough in the movies for her to blossom into a badass.
