In an interesting light, I could see Hermione being the newest version of Narcissa Malfoy. Light, energetic, bright and eager... but all those things are worn away until she is nothing more than a shell of a trophy.

I wonder if Hermione could carve out a life of her own somehow in the great huge manor.

Thank you. And me too. I think Narcissa became the woman she's turned into because of Lucius. Though, I didn't think about the parallels between her and Hermione in this story until just now that you mentioned it.

I liked it, though. All the D/Hr marriage law fics I've read so far have been "forced together but now in love" types. This was a refreshing change.
