Yeah, I've tried those coping strategies before. They don't really do it for me, unfortunately.

::big safe hugs:: I can understand the feeling.

Remember, keep breathing big, deep breaths. Not only will it help remind you you're alive, it helps you consciously mark the passing of time - so you can know that with time, the feeling will fade.

When I'm in a similar headspace, texture is what can bring me back where cutting/pounding (or the halfway step of ice-cube on the wrist) normally would have. Just focusing on feeling the texture of everything around me was a very tactile reminder of where I was and that I was alive and real.
