Last night, Jenny and I were robbed at gunpoint. We are safe now.

Yesterday, the 's' key stopped working.
I tried different corners and removed the key and blew a lot and even extracted a few eyelashes. No dice.
Toshiba says: you spilled water on it. I say, no.
Today I removed 's' and 'd' and vigorously blew on both.
S key works again.

Hooray.

It's amazing how depressing a malfunctioning key can be.

So, the new job is good. It's busy, but I like being busy when it makes the days go by faster. I'm totally drained though. I need to print out some common reference guides for PHP, MySQL, Unix, Perl, Vi, networking, and become familiar with common issues and hangups ( Read more... )

I have a new (additional) job doing some important, technologically-inclined stuff. Major changes include: more money, actual work (no more digg / lifehacker), and ugly work clothes.

I just ordered my first digital camera ever: Canon Powershot A700 ($300 after NiMH-battery pack, charger, and Transcend 1GB SD card). I feel deflowered. Finally, damn. Now I need a GorillaPod.
