Art: St Vier
Hello, fellow fans! I'm so glad I found this community for the Ellen Kushner's Swordspoint universe. *g* Some recent events led me to re-read Swordspoint and The Fall of the Kings, and I've rediscovered my old love for St Vier and his slightly mad, gentleman scholar. It's also led me to wonder exactly how Richard, Alec, and others like Michael Godwin look. Especially Richard St Vier.
I like the old hardback cover of the windblown swordsman - who I'd always taken to be St Vier - but on rereading the book, I came to feel that Richard St Vier has a much more sensuous face than the cover illustration allows. So I've tried my hand at drawing him the way I think he is. The style is inspired by the Pre-Raphaelites, specifically Dante Gabriel Rossetti.
