TPOTS Wordplay

Dec 13, 2007 11:49

I lay awake in bed last night, after studying for hours into the dim light of morning for an absolutely crucial final I have today. I couldn't get to sleep: mayhap it was all the caffeinated soda I'd drunk to keep myself awake, or the anticipation of the final itself and the consequences it would have on my GPA. Either way, it was late (rather, early), I was night-drunk, and playing with words in my head. (Is it a Writer Thing?)

Those words somersaulted around until, eventually, they became TPOTS poetry. Some of them barely rhyme, and they follow no poetic structure known to man, but it *was* 3am.

The first:

Richard St. Vier
was something to fear
'til the day his eyes became veiled and unclear.
So he left his mad lover
and went undercover,
no more the great swordsman St. Vier.

Yes, yes, more picking on Richard for fun and profit. I can't hear Allison's screeching now with the ears of my heart. >3 This one came next, and I was getting drowsy and having trouble with rhymes:

Katherine Talbert
seized life by the halberd.
She bested the sword
of a villainous lord.
Her uncle saw fit
the city to flit:
a new Duchess Tremontaine was born.

I swear I was half-asleep when I came up with this last one:

By his beautiful eyes, I am led...
I'D join Alec Campion in bed...
Just a spot!!
I prefer me intact, thanks a lot.
I'll grace safer bedsheets, instead.

Nobody gives the cast-offs enough Luv, I think was my last thought as I drifted off. XD

Let's face it, TPOTS and prose is way funner to dwell on than gene structure and protein synthesis.

character: richard, poetry, author: yaoi_in_exile, character: alec
