PrePortfolio review is tomorrow.
It's big and scary and I can't sleep.

Basically all of the photo instructors and about 100+ students gather,
and one by one, everyone in this class projects their portfolios on big screens,
clicks through each picture painfully, one by one.

Did an underwater shoot last night.
It was a Murphy's Law kind of evening.

Because of the cold weather outside,
even though it had only been in my car for twenty minutes,
my battery (fully charged when I left) only lasted for about 20 photos.
All of these photos were prior to going underwater.
And, being at a pool, there were no outlets... anywhere.

Baby steps towards where I want to be.
This is my Shakira inspired She Wolf shoot.
The airbrushing and compositing took me 7+ hours,
not including the 4+ hours of shoot time.
It was SO, SO worth every second.

I am tipsy and celebrating.
I am a photographer.
I am a real, live photographer.
I can take pictures of people and they look nice and professional.
I am excited.
I just... eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
I'm not thrilled because these are the "greatest photos ever taken."
But, again, these are stepping stones to improvement.

I still have much to learn.
I'm still not where I want to be.
BUT, my photography has come SUCH a long way in a very short amount of time.
I only made the decision to buckle down, read up, and shoot shoot shoot a few months ago.
And, I am seeing the rewards of doing so a lot more quickly than I thought I would.

The only way to improve is to humble myself and seek knowledge in those who are not my instructors. Some of my peers and those one step ahead produce the most amazing, beautiful work I've ever seen.
