Having RL drama, and it is not agreeing with me at all. [pouts].

The solution to this is obviously stealing a meme from the lovely wrongly_amused

Have your flist respond with the number of languages they speak, citing which is their native tongue and any other languages they're fluent in/are learning.

Also, last call on this memeOn an unrelated note, has ( Read more... )

My native language is English. I've taken Spanish and French, but I don't remember much of either. Right now, though, I'm learning Japanese.

My native language is English. I have a fluent comprehension of French, but my speaking vocabulary is not as thorough as it could be. I also know some German, Spanish, Japanese, Latin, and Italian.

[tries and fails to hide jealously].

Where did you find the time to learn all that?

umm...my dad spoke in German to me when I was little (he became fluent in college), I've been taking French since kindergarten and I've traveled to France a couple of times so I really HAD to learn conversational French. Italian's the same; we've vacationed there and it wasn't that hard to pick up, what with my latin and french. I took Latin for two years and I loved it; I still do grammar and vocabulary exercises for fun. (weird, I know) As for the Japanese and Spanish, I have a lot of friends at school that take those languages and they feel the need to talk in them all the time, so they were just sort of absorbed.

wow, that's really long. sorry. --;;

I just started watching Scrapped Princess, and am currently four eps in. Half of what I love about it is how much it reminds me of Planet Ladder. *points to icon* I doubt there will be someone as brilliant and coldly bitchy as my Bambi-chan, though. *points to icon AND username*

Anyway, it has the real possibility of going places, but I lean towards "artsy" anime more. Though I also just started watching Naruto, and while it's quite amusing, it makes Scrapped Princess look like high art.

Side note: All this fuss I've heard about Sasuke... WTF? He's all of what, thirteen, fourteen... at least in Loveless pedophilia was part of the plot (such as it is) or something, but.... he's just too young for me! I draw the line! It's true I fell for half the G-boys way back when, but I was fifteen at the time, so, not gross ( ... )

Now I'm all interested in this Planet Ladder of which you speak. Is it just a manga or is it an anime too?

Many of my friends and I also don't understand the Sasuke attraction. We always joke about what it would be like if Ino or Sakura actually dated him, and how he'd probably be like, "You can pleasure me now. All right, bye."

Because, he's like a kid from the neck up, but from the neck down, he's pure 20-something SEX GOD.

I love you so much right now.

I'm liking Shannon in every way possible at the moment. He rox0rz my box0rz.

Planet Ladder is a completed seven-volume manga by Yuri Narushima. It isn't an anime, (and isn't too likely to become one, not that it's controversial, I just don't think it's that popular) and nobody scanlated it, so the only way to get it is through Tokyopop. It features incestuous UST (canon kissing!), lesbian UST, the power to save one--and only one--of nine possible Earths, and a giant robot cock. I kid you not. It's a rooster, and it's like ten feet tall.

And don't even joke about Sasuke getting pleasured. Too young! Too young! *scrubs your brain*

I can speak Vietnamse, French and English. =) Vietnamese is my native language.

Oooh, I really want to see Gundam Seed... Lacus looks so cute. She reminds me of Roze from Full Metal Alchemist, lol.

Scrapped Princess... wah! I haven't even heard of it. ;_;

Lacus is horrible. She's the biggest Mary Sue I've ever seen. Literally. She's had her genes altered so she would be perfect. Not only that but she's an extremely popular pop singer and at the same time rigorously involved with politics. And to top it off, she's a princess.

I pretty much can't stand Lacus. I much prefer Fllay, who is her crazy, flawed, human counterpart.

But yes, watch Gundam SEED! The drama owns so bad. Every single episode it just gets better and better.

Lol, well she looked nice to me. --; I haven't seen the movie, but my friends say that I'd like Cagalli a lot.

Never heard of Scrapped princess.

As for the languages: I grew up speaking both English and Spanish, so I consider myself a native speaker of both, but English is my stronger one. I am getting an Associates Degree in French next Spring, I've taken a semester of German, and I am going to start Japanese classes on Monday. I'm also interested in learning either Arabic or Urdu at some point in the near future. Maybe Italian too.

I love German ♥. I'm just about to entire my third year. Good luck with the Japanese; I've been meaning to pick up a textbook or two for a while myself.

I actually didn't take to German very well, but I think that was mainly due to their backwards grammar. I couldn't write a single sentence for my class, something was always in the wrong place! ^.^;

And thanks, I'll need the luck in Japanese. I've wanted to take it since I started HS.

I'm exactly the opposite with German. I feel like it's easier to learn than the romantic languages because it's derived from Anglo Saxan like English. Although it does start to get a little complicated when you learn all the cases, because sie and ihr mean a million things each depending on what case.
