More Wedding news... I know, I know! I expect there will be a few more of these as the day draws closer. I just wanted to share a bit of the DIY decor my mother, maid of honor and myself have been working on. As I mentioned in a previous post, I will be having two celebrations. One will be for just close, immediate family at my mother's house "

You did a good thing deciding to go for two small events for your wedding, it is YOUR day and a big celebration becomes more of a thing you do for others. I got married in a beautiful park in St Simons Island, Georgia. One of my husband's closest friend is a reverend and he married us under a tree (he came down from North Carolina and slept on the couch of the apartment we were renting) we hired a photographer who gave us the photos right away on a disk (so no waiting so I had them all) we set up a tripod for recording our vows and we had Eric's brother and sister in law as witnesses. It was perfect... Trust me you want to be stress free on that day and feel like it's completely your day!
When we arrived at the park there were kids everywhere because summer camp or something like that. They all sat on the grass around us and listen and at the end they cheered like just kids can do! It was perfect! I wish you a great one!!!! :)

Thank you for your reassurances. It's really delightful to hear from others who took the more simple route and how happy that made them and how well the results turned out. Your ceremony sounds lovely, what a perfect way/day to get married! And oh my, that is adorable about all the children. That must have been a very nice, sweet touch to your already perfect day!

Goshen's a pretty nice place and it looks as if you're going to have good weather for it too. I love small weddings. We did a Celtic Handfasting ceremony complete with bag piper and only about 20 people. We ended up having an outdoor wedding in the middle of Hurricane Ernesto, but I wouldn't have traded it for the world. :)
Breaking it up into two events was smart and gives everyone a chance to celebrate without having to get everyone in one place or breaking your bank account. Weddings can be obscenely expensive. I wanted no part of that. Rather save that money for a nice honeymoon.
Have a blast at your bachelorette party! Are you having it at someone's house or are you going out to terrorize the city?

Fingers crossed that the weather is good. Yeah, Goshen is super pretty (though, ugh terrible town to live in... luckily I only stayed there for the summers during college vacation).
Aww, your ceremony sounds incredible! I am concerned about the guests, of course, and the stress my mother might endure, but I love rain and getting caught in thunderstorms so I certainly wouldn't be upset if it did rain a bit!
Thank you! Hah, we are going to terrorize the city. I think some games in the park, followed by dinner and then a karaoke bar? But most of it is a surprise!

Your plans sound fun.
And have a fabulous bachelorette! <3

So are you having "Draco" and "Harry" as strippers for your bachelorette?!?

Haha, don't think the strippers are happening... that was indeed just fun talk and a pipe dream, but I do hope there is still some kind of Harry Potter element involved.
