I'm constantly amazed at how easily school gets cancelled down here. Oh, it might be icy tomorrow? No school! Dusting of snow? No school! Windy? No school! I'm going to be one of those parents with the horror stories about walking home in snow wearing clogs (really, what was I thinking? Clogs! Not because of the snow, but because they're ( Read more... )

Well, you know I had to look it up!!!

Beautiful, lots of potential.

it's fun to dream, huh? Justin is infatuated with a couple of houses on Riverside... Either there or in the Bluefield subdivision in Donelson. Not that I am going to end up with him, but he loves my realtracs access, and we critique houses we like and how we'd change them, and what we'd put where. It's fun. Plus, GOD, I'd love to live on Riverside!

Oh god, me too! There's this one house. It's on the water side of the street, and kindof in a hole, but it reminds me of the old houses in Salem that I love and I have decided that if it ever goes up for sale that it will be a sign for me to go play the lottery because I will win and buy that house.

As for the house in Madison - carpets got to go. I'm kindof in love with bamboo flooring right now plus it's a sustainable resource, so woohoo on that. Wallpaper in the kitchen is a no go. I'd love to refinish the cabinets to a darker wood. There weren't really a lot of pictures, so that's all I can think of right now. OH! And have my dad build some built-ins on either side of the fireplace.

It is fun to critique the houses. Phil will show me some that are either really nice or really horrible that he comes across while working.

I know exactly the house you mean. The cream-colored gothic one. It sold not long after we bought our house, I think it was around 400K. That's one that Justin likes. He'd like to be on the water side, but it's so expensive. I can't believe the Swartzes (teal house with black shutters) are selling! Someone FINALLY ran them out of the neighborhood.

They also own the lot across the street from them, and I told Justin to call and see if they would sell that lot seperately and he could just build there and have his Lake House he so badly wants.

Are they selling? I didn't know that. I did read that blog, was it StopSwartz? Only that one time though.
