Hello, Internet!

Sep 21, 2014 20:25

Let's just skip over the whole "I can't believe it's been so-and-so long since I posted" - because it's getting tiresome and ridiculous - and jump straight into television, shall we?

Let's! )

tv: arrow, tv: a to z, spoilers, tv: flash, tv: 100, tv: parks and recreation, tv: elementary, tv: brooklyn nine-nine, tv: selfie, tv: red band society, tv: person of interest

I 100% join you in your appreciation for P&R and Leslie/Ben. That is one of the happiest, most satisfying ships I've ever shipped, and I'm so glad that I still feel that way with the show going into it's final stretch.

I've heard nothing but bad things about Selfie so far, yet I still plan to check it out. It sounds like the kind of show that if just a few things were handled better, it could maybe be good? Maybe I'm just rooting for John Cho to have a hit (in which he doesn't get killed off, ala Sleepy Hollow) because I find him so likeable.

A to Z is on my list to watch too. If there was one thing the final season of HIMYM got right (and there was ONLY the one thing) it was casting Christin Milioti. She was great, and I'd love to watch her in something that doesn't end up making me actively angry.

I only hope that they have killed it dead and don't plan to resurrect that zombie for season 4.That's my concern over Oliver/Laurel as well. It's all well and good for them to say right now that the pairing is dead, but who knows ( ... )

I think maybe? I feel like some of the things that are truly awful in the pilot are things that are supposed to be awful because they're going to constitute character development and drive the plot forward. I just wish it didn't have to be awful to begin with. But I guess that's the My Fair Lady pitfall of it all.

It's all well and good for them to say right now that the pairing is dead, but who knows where things will stand in a year
Yeah, them intending this as a cooling-off period instead of a funeral for the 'ship is the stuff of nightmares in my world. I think the whole Laurel thing has been a giant misstep from day 1 with the writers, because it feels like they think that the simple virtue of existing earns Laurel the viewers' love. Which? NO. Especially not when the only things we've seen of her make her less than sympathetic. Though unlike you I am kind of obsessive about Felicity/Oliver, so...

I was really hoping to get ( ... )

Hahaha, I'm sorry I...mentioned them in passing while bitching about Laurel, thus apparently sending you into a 'shipping spiral?

I know what you mean, I'm the same way about Captain Swan. Haven't watched the show since season 1, but I found myself a YouTube channel dedicated to all interactions between them and gorged myself. 'Shipping vicariously through flisters is one of my favorite things.

For me, Arrow is worth it if only for two things: Felicity/Oliver and Oliver gazing adoringly at Felicity. With the way Stephen Amell looks at her, I wonder how anyone can be anything OTHER than an Olicity 'shipper.

Love your TV posts! Nice to see you back. :)

I've been meaning to watch The 100. Will give it a go. And thank you for helping me decide to pass on Red Band. I saw an add that said "Glee meets The Fault in Our Stars" and I was like, you lost me at Glee. (I love musicals, but that show got so bad and UGH.)

Word on Leslie and Ben. <3

The worst part is that I'm always around here (because LJ is still one of my home pages), but I can never just bring myself to post. I even compose posts in my head! But never think to write them down until I forget them. *sigh*

The 100 s1 ended in a way that gives me hope for less poo-coloring in season 2 (what can I say, I'm shallow and all that brown bugs my esthetic senses), so yay!

As for Red Band Society, I heard "Breakfast Club set in hospital", which showed some promise. Too bad the pilot didn't live up to it (in my opinion, of course).

Leslie/Ben forever!

I think what bums me out the most is that they're bringing in another lady and then pitting her and Watson against each other (god, I hope it's not for long). It stinks. I figure the arc of the season will be Joan coming out of Sherlock's shadow and being a fully-fledged investigator in her own right so that when they come back together it will be more as equals... Except I never thought Sherlock was her superior. Sure, he had more knowledge, but Joan's emotional connection with and knowledge of people often paid more dividends than his book-learning ( ... )
