Let's just skip over the whole "I can't believe it's been so-and-so long since I posted" - because it's getting tiresome and ridiculous - and jump straight into television, shall we?
I think what bums me out the most is that they're bringing in another lady and then pitting her and Watson against each other (god, I hope it's not for long). It stinks. I figure the arc of the season will be Joan coming out of Sherlock's shadow and being a fully-fledged investigator in her own right so that when they come back together it will be more as equals... Except I never thought Sherlock was her superior. Sure, he had more knowledge, but Joan's emotional connection with and knowledge of people often paid more dividends than his book-learning.
I think the real key to this Moonlighting curse thing is to have an underlying good show. But when the show starts to drag out a pairing past the point of believability, people get fed up - not necessarily because they want to see the couple together, but because the writing has gotten so bad because they refuse to just DO IT. So then they finally put them together in a last desperate attempt to reel back viewers, they come back only for the emotional satisfaction of seeing a couple they love get together and then hightail it out of there because you can't unring that bell, the writing is never going to be up to snuff again.
I, too, enjoy the gender reversal (and Clarke as a character works like gangbusters for me) and I, too, 'ship them. =)
