With good writing comes good characterization, and that's really all I need.

Amen! Well said. You want to mess with my ships? Do so with my blessing AS LONG AS YOU DO IT WELL.

You want to stick with the couple everyone loves? Fabulous, but please, for the love of God, DO IT WELL.

Yes, and as long as the characters stay themselves (and aren't, you know, marginalized), I'm always going to root for them to be together. All part and parcel of good writing.

If I had to choose between good writing and a good/validated 'ship I'd go for the good writing every day of the week. [...] I 'ship them because of who they are as people and what they mean to each other. With good writing comes good characterization, and that's really all I need.

I'm right with you there, but considering the incredible downward spiral the writing has taken this season?  In not just the relationship and character aspects, but in all aspects?  ...Yeah, I'm not even going to consider holding my breath on that one.  Sigh.

The worst part about it is that I don't think they're incapable of good writing, I just see them as being lazy and not bothering to write the hard stuff.

Exactly -- we know they're capable, or we never would've loved the show in the first place.  It's just laziness at this point, seems like, like you say.

That it's All About Veronica/Logan.

Like, see how 'EPIC' they are? I hated that Logan was in the elevator when Veronica and Piz were kissing. First of all they've already done a dramatic moment with that set up, and second, it made it all about the L/V. (Besides what was Logan even doing in the elevator?)

The episode was incredibly lame. Although I'd like Parker more if she gave Veronica that piece on purpose.

The big problem is that it feels like they haven't bothered to develop the peripheral characters because they're only meant to be plot devices standing in the way of the V/L relationship. It's like they can't be bothered to even make the effort of having it appear like a real obstacle.

Logan in the elevator felt extremely stupid since the only reason I can think of him being there was if he'd taken Parker home, but the party was still in full swing, so what the hell? They could have easily put Dick there to give it the appearance that the ice room was on another floor and Logan had gone there to rescue him.

Exactly. I actually liked Parker. Piz I was never crazy about because from the beginning it was obvious that he was only there to come between our star-crossed lovers.
But now they've reduced the both of them to cheap plot devices.

That would have made more sense. For all we know Dick is still in that little room.

"Let us not speak of it again."

I'd wipe the entire season from my mind, but I want to remember the adorableness of Cha.

I truly adored the first four episodes, but as soon as Rob and Amber were eliminated it felt like the season never really got off the ground again, despite D&O's adorableness.

So true. No one else has ever managed to play the gam with such gusto for the actual GAME playing. *sigh*

See, I told you Shear Genius would be fun. ;-) But if I'd been that poor girl Dr. Boogie hacked away at last week I would have cried in the car on the way home. I think Tabatha is my favorite. She's good and she's a bitch, what's not to love? *g*

And you were completely right.

I think the girl was horrified for a while there, but I think she liked the styled result. I don't think it particularly suited her and I'm sure she'll never allow anyone such liberties with her hair again.

My reservations about Tabatha happened in the first episode when she got last pick and went "I would have chosen her anyway". It was just so...bitchy isn't the right word, it was more like a false front - a very obvious false front that was totally unnecessary. I have liked her since then, though.
