I actually had the same theory about Dumbledore and Snape. That "Severus, please" was more about "please kill me so that my student doesn't turn totally evil." He made Harry promise to follow his orders, why not Snape?
Dumbledore sees this too, so when Snape comes bursting in Dumbledore tells him to kill him.
Yes! I have to admit, I was pretty suprised when Snape killed him, but I think you're exactly right about why Snape did it.
Imagine my surprise when Luna pretty much mirrors my feelings when she calls him mean just a hundred or so pages later. And imagine my complete and utter shock when Harry actually agrees with her, albeit silently.
I thought that was pretty interesting, Luna pointing out how mean Ron can be. I wonder if it's not foreshadowing something that will happen in Book 7?
I really like your theory about Snape. I completely forgot about the Unbreakable Vow and now I feel silly for doing so, because I remember thinking "Snape's going to have to do whatever Malfoy's supposed to".
And uh, I'll jump on the unpopular opinion train and agree with all that you said about Ron.
