its taken me too long to realize that everyone won't like me...but what do i need to change about myself? what part of me is just who i am and what do i need to do differently?

you know what else is incredibly hard....realizing that your parents aren't right all the time and that you are becoming an adult just like them and you have different opinions than they do and you don't stand for the same things or automatically take their side. it's strange when you get to an age(not when we're being silly teenagers) when you actually disagree with something your parents stand for or something they did from a moral or ethical or religious or political standpoint.

that will rock your world. your parents aren't the epitome/moral pillar of all things right in the world. i've grown to realize the EXTREME immaturity (and various other things) of my mother.
