Whatever floats your boat. Any lossless conversion is fine by me.

(In your case, i'd even trust you to tweak the lossy ones.)

Just for my edification, what's the difference between PNG and GIF formats? They're both colortable-and-index-based schemes, right?

Shoot, I'm not totally sure. I think PNG is more general: it can do bitmap, indexed, 8-bit grey, 16grey, RGB8, RGB16, all with a tunable, lossless compression scheme. It might not be supported on some older Windows machines, but anything made/released in the last 3 years supports it. Even macs!

Thanks, 'Mouse! The real credit goes all to Ian Moore (OneFullStop.net). mcniadh and i had the general concept and took the pictures (it's a composite), but Ian did a ton of work on it for us to realize the end product. We're really happy with the results.

Ian's got some great photos of his own, too.

If all goes well, we'll be releasing a single on September 7th.

Printed posters are coming, too -- and i'll actually be asking (begging? bribing with Gib Yob?) you and schmise and others about that very soon... ;)
