I just have a hard time with time travel in fiction when consequences come before actions. It confuses me to no end.

Is it just me or doesn't this just cause another thing to happen when you go back and change one thing? A never ending cycle of chaos?

Don't I know it. Just thinking about it makes my head hurt - and it's not even a chicken or egg thing because we are talking about people. If he hadn't had the father he did, that came back and told his mother the truth - then no way he would have become the man he did and thus been able to send his father back to begin with. So how could he have been conceived before he even sent his father back in time? Confusion multiplied. Honestly, this has bugged me for 20 years (yes, even as a teen it bugged me) and I think they would have done better just to leave it the hell alone in the series. But still the show in all is intriguing.

The supposition of the Terminator movie was that things weren't changed when John's father came back: that's what was supposed to happen. The physics of it all, at least within the currently acceptable understanding of quantum physics in the form of string theory, is that there are several timeloops existing side-by-side all the time. Given that time/space is a continuum, we can bend between them, sort-of, but that time is linear within that bend. We cannot change our future by returning to the past or we would not be here to make that change. Did you ever see the remake of Time Machine? The premise was the guy invented the time machine to go back and save his lady love, but he never could save her: if he saved her he would not have invented the time machine in the first place, so he would not be needing to go back. Does that help at all?

*hugs my brainy physicist* Thank you so much. That actually does help me to understand it better in theory. Never being much of a scientific mind, I leave it to you scholars to keep me straight. ;)

I have seen pieces of The Time Machine, with Guy Peirce right? But it was one of those reading a book at the same time type of things so I wasn't really asking myself the big questions at the time. Never read the book either. The time travel book I need to read (and have been meaning to for years as I've had a few people tell me I must) is Timeline by Michael Crichton. I was told to not even bother with the movie. But I can actually get in a scientific mind when reading Crichton (although it's been a while) so I guess that's a good thing right?

There must be more FNL. They can't end it like that. :( RENEW!

The short Skate scenes on LOST were exactly what I needed. It's been too long.

I pretty much hate the casting of the Twilight movie. I still wish it the best--I'd love to have a fun movie I could take my daughters to--but yes, meh.

I'm all in a depressive state over FNL - seriously. But the good news is that even if NBC gives it the shaft - cable channels have expressed buzz about wanting to buy it if it comes to that. Not only for it's quality - but also because it is one of the cheapest shows on the air to produce. So heres to hoping. *crosses fingers ( ... )

Thanks for the link to the Cullen family photo. Not how I pictured them, but I think it will work well enough.

Word on the last SPN ep. The hug at the end just destroyed me.

Your welcome - yeah, I'm having issues with it if I think too much about it - but luckily I just am kind of ambivalent about the whole project so I'm OK.

Those Winchesters are going to kill us in the end. You know this right?

Are you watching Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles? Even if you aren't I would like your scientific opinion about the Terminator time-travel laws thing. See that part of my post and my first set of comments between myself and stars91 - I promise it's not spoilery if you have seen even the first "Terminator" movie - which I know you have.

How are you feeling? The shower was wonderful and beautiful. Regardless of how you feel, you do look great. *hugs*

I tried to watch an early ep but couldn't get into it, but I'm not sure why. I'll read above.

The shower was fun, no? I loved the food. Made my mouth very happy!
