Thank you!

I love the idea of Eames engineering the whole thing just to get the tightly-buttoned, studious, ridiculously cute boy trapped in detention with him.

Arthur, Arthur, Arthur... not always so cool and collected, I see! His "sweetheart?" moment was adorable. Will you continue with what happens in detention? ;)

That's an interesting situation about the job. Good that you still have one, but, yeah, I'd be kind of insulted, too. Hopefully you'll be able to find something better in the not-so-distant future.

Thanks, lol. I thought I was the only one who thought my job sitch was uber weird. "You're fired . . . sorta. . . ."

I found out I'm the only one they fired that accepted the data entry position, too. So that means that, since they don't have as many people doing it as they'd like, I may wind up with a job for a little bit longer. And so far, the work is ridiculously easy. Plus I get to listen to music while I do it.

I've sold my soul cheaply, but what-the-fuck-ever. Souls don't get health insurance.

I may just continue in this 'verse. I have no idea what happens in detention, yet, but I do know that Arthur's ride, Dom, has already driven off (with Arthur's sister, Ariadne), and thus Arthur is rideless. But Eames just happens to have a car. . . .

The trick is to get Arthur to accept the ride, of course ;D

Argh! Partial firing and a pay cut/ temp job. I'm glad the hours work for you but that's a sneaky move by your employers! ((hugs))

My employers have many sneaky moves up their sleeves. And that's part of the reason they wound up having to fire so many people. They got caught being sneaky asshats. But at least this temp job, as boring and mindless as it is, isn't a soul-sucking hell-ride, like my previous job. Though I do miss my friends. They made almost every crappy moment worth it.

Off the phones and the work schedule you want are definite pluses. Consider this the spur to look for that better job, from what you've said here in the past I get the impression this one had a soul sucking effect. Maybe this will turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

I think it just might be that blessing in disguise. Usually, after work, I'm too tired to do things like, oh, thinking about getting another job. The temp work doesn't suck nearly the same amount of soul out of me. It's boring, and repetitive, but it's not at all stressful. Except for the part where I have to fight to stay awake.

Once I actually get used to having extra time, energy, brain power, I can really buckle down on the school work, and finding another job. For now, I'm still tired and reeling, and generally ramskazzled.

But I'll nonetheless be combing through the classifieds, today.

Being partially fired is a weird feeling. At my first job, about a year after I started, I was laid off - for twenty minutes.

They laid me off, and as I was packing, my direct superior called and said "don't worry, I'll fix this." I kept packing, thinking 'how do you fix this?'

Apparently, you resign because you'd been wanting to do something else anyway. :) Fritz was a great guy.

Wow, your supe resigned over your laid off-ing? He sounds like a hell of a guy. Was his resignation what allowed you to stay at your first job? Or did you walk when he did?

He was already working at home to be there for his little boy and had started a consulting business. I stayed on and he, I'm sure, went on to bigger and better things.
