Regarding your employer ( I don't know if you remember me but I used to work there with you ) they just laid off Ben who I was good friends with there.. Seems like things are circling the drain, I would get out while you can. I don't know what your pay scale is but there is a place right across the street from Partsearch basically called FirstSource that I used to work at that is always hiring and pays I think $9.25/hour.. and it's permanent with health benefits.
Of course I remember you. And your awesome tattoos :D
I was shocked when I found out about Ben. I thought it was just Dawn that they laid off, as far as management goes. On the floor, they laid off Sands, which surprised me. Bunch of other people got the ax, too. Most of them long-timers. The floor is now full of noobs who don't really know what the hell they're doing. And because with a bunch of noobs fucking up orders, now is so the right time, they dissolved floor support. Surely the wisest in a string of wise decisions.
See the new title to my journal for what my erstwhile employers should be asking themselves.
I went to FirstSource almost six months ago, but they never called me back :(
Noobs are cheaper to keep, to be honest. From a business sense, it's pretty typical. I just feel badly for everyone that is now going to struggle.
And regarding FirstSource.. try again. It can't hurt, right? Also, test your typing online, and include your WPM/ KPH and accuracy in your resume.
Honestly when I lost my job at FirstSource I couldn't find anything else. Which is why I moved up here to Schenectady & now work in Albany. BUT.. now I work 2 full time jobs and pull down $$$ with benefits. I'm just far away from everyone I love. haha.
It'll be ok! ( My doctor just upped my dosage, positive outlook and rainbows everyyywhere. )
Firstly, the story is adoable. I love how Eames plays with poor Arthur.
Secondly, I'm sorry about the job, but I hope it does pave the way for you to get something you like better. I think life's too short to spend a big chunk of your day doing something that doesn't make you more of who you want to be.

Arthur/Eames has the same dynamic that I loved with Spander. Gotta love the snark.
You're right about the job, but after nearly five years . . . you get used to a place, even if it makes you miserable.
Lame, but then I'm Autocrat Lame of Lamersonia. All hail me!
