I want a tenor banjo so bad, I can almost taste the Irish folk tunes.
I've got my eye on this
beauty, though I really want one with nineteen frets instead of seventeen, so I could play Dixieland, were I so inclined, and I have to say . . . I just might be

I love the outsider pov.
Banjo, eh? Huh.

Indeed, but I skipped over the worst of it. For now.
It's like I write 'verses the way normal writers write outlines. Get the barebones down, and fill in the details afterwards. I'm still writing the Methos-kills-Xander story, and haven't even started the Methos-wakes-up-after-being-killed-by-Xander story.
I love the outsider pov.
Duncan MacLeod's hard to write. Harder than Methos, even. Like Sam Winchester, he's really hard for me to get a handle on. Can't see writing him too often. But thank you, lol. I really don't imagine Methos would ever make a good teacher for someone he's sleeping with. He's got a bad track record, where that's concerned.
Duncan's just got more patience, and he's not wrapped around Xander's finger. And he's really good. Like, possibly better than Methos.
Banjo, eh? Huh.
:)BANJO! Yes! Ever since my guitar got stolen, I've been waffling about getting a replacement. But then I realized I don't want a replacement. I loved that guitar, and replacing it'd be like ( ... )

And no, i cannot play an instrument. I took piano lessons as a kid, and played a little guitar, but i've never had much of a talent for it. I much preferred singing, although i don't think my voice is much good anymore, for all that i sung in the church choir.

But I wrote this other Xander, Duncan ficlet a while back--there was judo, and Xander getting thrown around. Now, at least there's a ficlet-y bridge leading up to it, lol.
I am daunted by the Methos-wakes-up-after-the-butterknife fic, though.

I'm thinking Methos was probably waiting for a violent reaction, though he probably wasn't expecting death by butterknife. I can also imagine him being more pissed about getting bloodstains on the mattress and ruining the bedlinen, than he is about said butterknife. And if he was wearing one of his favourite shirts? Well...
Also, some inopportune critiquing of Xander's style would also be likely, IMO. *g*

Not at all. Especially with Xander so volatile, right now. Methos would either be too hard on him, or coddle him into uselessness.
MacLeod will help Xander without the emotional attachment,
At least not the same emotional attachment. MacLeod needs to be a father figure to someone. Like canon, in this 'verse Richie's dead. I can see Xander being a mouthier, more stubborn stand-in.
but I can see Xander having issues with his lover leaving him, even if he just says it's for a month. *sigh*A month till they see each other again. Methos wasn't kidding about MacLeod's timetable for whipping him into some semblance of shape. Then training him. It'd take the better part of a year just to get the basics hammered in, never mind how long it'll take to "rebuild" Xander. This is no small commitment, and commuting is not an option. Seattle and Seacouver are a good few hours apart, miles-wise ( ... )
