I want a tenor banjo so bad, I can almost taste the Irish folk tunes.
I've got my eye on this
beauty, though I really want one with nineteen frets instead of seventeen, so I could play Dixieland, were I so inclined, and I have to say . . . I just might be

Indeed, but I skipped over the worst of it. For now.
It's like I write 'verses the way normal writers write outlines. Get the barebones down, and fill in the details afterwards. I'm still writing the Methos-kills-Xander story, and haven't even started the Methos-wakes-up-after-being-killed-by-Xander story.
I love the outsider pov.
Duncan MacLeod's hard to write. Harder than Methos, even. Like Sam Winchester, he's really hard for me to get a handle on. Can't see writing him too often. But thank you, lol. I really don't imagine Methos would ever make a good teacher for someone he's sleeping with. He's got a bad track record, where that's concerned.
Duncan's just got more patience, and he's not wrapped around Xander's finger. And he's really good. Like, possibly better than Methos.
Banjo, eh? Huh.
:)
BANJO! Yes! Ever since my guitar got stolen, I've been waffling about getting a replacement. But then I realized I don't want a replacement. I loved that guitar, and replacing it'd be like getting a replacement puppy after my dog died, when what I need is a cat--no, wait, I really don't like mammals. Change "dog" to turtle, and "cat" to python.
Hence, the banjo. Plus, I like the sound . . . very pretty. And it's a stringed instrument, which is a a big selling point. I don't have to have "lung capacity", or "rhythm" to play. And dude, if you Youtube "tenor banjo"--the stuff it pulls up! Eddy Davis--and the Dubliners. And all the reels!
Ever since that concert, I can't get banjos off my mind. And there were other instruments at play: guitars, drums, tin whistles, accordions, violins, mandolins . . . but I've always like the banjo. Just never realized that I could own one :)
I'm way too psyched, but I don't care. I miss having something to play.
Hey, do you play any instruments?

:)
And no, i cannot play an instrument. I took piano lessons as a kid, and played a little guitar, but i've never had much of a talent for it. I much preferred singing, although i don't think my voice is much good anymore, for all that i sung in the church choir.
